I was wondering if fate deferred was abandoned? Regardless wanted to say that within it you have created probably one (if not the) of my all time favourite fanfictions of all time. The prose is tremendous and the characters a vivid and fit with what would occur in this world and the structure of each chapter with the flashbacks is incredible and adds so much. Cannot wait to read more if it continues but if not then thank you for all your hard work on a truly remarkable piece of art.

I hate to say any of my fics are abandoned because I still think about them all the time and would love to finish all of them. But let's face facts, I haven't actually written anything in a long time and with a baby on the way I don't think I'll be rediscovering any wealth of free time or energy any time soon. Fate Deferred especially was a very ambitious project that takes a lot of detailed planning to write and that's just not something I really can do at this current stage in my life.

I'm glad you and others have enjoyed what I have written and published so far and I am still very proud of Fate Deferred, even in its incomplete state. Let's just say it's on a very indefinite hiatus.

Hi, I'm a huge fan of your Zutara fics. I am especially a fan of Fate Deferred and It Must Follow, As Night the Day. I'm wondering what inspired these stories? Any outside sources like books or movies?

Fate Deferred takes a lot of structural inspiration from Star Wars and Once Upon a Time. Star Wars in the sense that it's sort of a trilogy and a prequel trilogy rolled into one, and OUAT with the intercut past and present storylines. Thematically I drew on lots of different sources for various characters and subplots. Toph's marriage and the Penkou City chapters draw on The Scarlet Pimpernel, Kanna's backstory owes a lot to Kristin Lavransdatter, and Ukon the fire sage was partly inspired by the title character of The Young Pope.

It Must Follow is less consciously inspired by anything in particular.
