Another fatepost I've been meaning to make: I think Diarmuid would be an excellent candidate for having an Alter version at some point and the fucked up idea I had is that he holds onto all the spite he gained from his past life death as WELL as the spite from his Fate: Zero death when he gets summoned in some place years later and they culminate into him being a very betrayed individual. I imagine he has a scar/ damage on his face from forcibly trying to remove his Love Spot after the pain it caused him for decades and he permanently has his fucked up Fate Zero death eyes lmao. The only other idea I have is bringing the elements of the demon boar into it where maybe he has tusks coming out his chest around his heart like a splintered ribcage and is fully and utterly divorced from any idea of love and beauty (but is still So Handsome because he can't remove even that from himself)
also I think it would be so fun to explore an alternate Fate/ Zero scenario where Sola-Ui manages to grab Diarmuid's summoning catalyst before Kayneth does and breaks off their engagement (probably because Kayneth has a huge crash out about losing his chance to summon Alexander and yells at her or some shit) and she becomes his master and controls his mana and despite some inevitable struggles with his (cursed) love spot they do make it to the end and Diarmuid and Saber make a lot of use of fighting the other servants together. they'd probs eventually be able to fend off Gilgamesh since Diarmuid has the advantage to an Archer class as a Lancer and when they end up as the last two servants they get to have their final battle that they've both always wanted even though it'll probably make them upset that it's the end. Kiritsugu would probably try to fuck things up or even contact Kayneth to find a way to get back at his ex-fiancee but I'd like to think if Diarmuid dies and Saber got to have her Holy Grail wish she'd wish for his life to have never known a moment of pain (as well as wishing none of the other masters die so we can still have all them around for plot reasons obviously). If Diarmuid wins I'd like to think he'd wish the latter and that he and Saber could have known another at the same time so they could see each-other again (and probably that he doesn't have his love spot anymore) :')
