Well, if nothing else, Eizen had zero doubts that his Reaper’s Curse had followed him into this world. He’d hardly been there more than a few minutes before he saw a couple fall victim to it. They’d been minding their own business, just going down the street, when all of a sudden a fountain they and he were walking past seemed to malfunction. The fountain’s water shot off in an abnormal direction, soaking the couple who’d been misfortunate enough to be in the same area.
Next, as he crossed a street, a young man also crossed Eizen’s path. The two brushed past one another, the younger man’s shoe catching against Eizen’s boot, and Eizen could only watch as the man fell face first into an open trash can. Not the worst outcome, but still not good.
That was all Eizen needed to see to confirm the Curse was as strong as ever. It seemed people were taking notice, too. Not helping was the next bout of it resulting in a bucket of water falling from a window above him and another person, except the water only hit Eizen. The bucket collided with the other person, knocking them to the ground in a dazed, surprised state.
Well. At least the Reaper’s Curse hadn’t killed anyone. Still, Eizen knew how people reacted to such things. It would do him some good to get off the streets and lay low for a bit. Except even as he tried that, more people seemed to be afflicted with misfortune.
“Working in overdrive today, huh,” he observed to himself. Out of habit, he retrieved his coin from his pocket and gave it a flip. Tails. As per usual. He was about to keep walking when he spotted another young man. This one seemed to be wearing some sort of costume. Kind of like a cat.
“I’d advise you keep your distance,” Eizen remarked. “String of misfortune going around.” None of it lethal, he reminded himself. Still, without saying as much as the curse coming from him, he’d offered a warning. That was good enough.
