They'd let her continue traveling with her.

She should have been happy about that, right? Alphen and the others had seen her at her ugliest, her lowest, and chosen to allow her to continue down the same path as them. But why? Would it not have been easier to see how she'd almost hurt Law, how she'd been so hellbent on avenging her family, and turn her away when granted the chance to go after Almeidrea once more? The questions churned in her mind over and over as they traveled to try and find the Lord of wind, and she was left to ponder them. She'd been left to ponder them further after the party finished setting up camp for the night.

Law volunteered for the first night watch. For half a moment, the request to join him was readied. Just as soon as she'd started to let the thought come out, though, he'd gone to actually keep watch. Oh... yeah. Rinwell figured that made sense. She hadn't exactly made herself the most approachable person as they'd traveled through Mahag Saar. That was even before everyone had found out why she'd had such a chip on her shoulder.

Rinwell moved back to her spot near the fire and settled down with Hootle, book in hand but only halfhearted in her efforts to flip to a page. She should study her artes some more, she'd told herself. Keep her mind off of things. Even with her best efforts, though, she found she wasn't taking in a single word.

A sigh. Her eyes shifted away from her book and back to the rest of the party. Alphen was busying himself with conversation with Kisara. Dohalim looked lost in thought, and Shionne was finishing another plate of food. That left...

Admittedly, Rinwell wasn't sure where things stood between herself and Leia. The brunette was busy with writing things down. It was a task that she often busied herself with, Rinwell knew. She seemed to pride herself in doing so. Perhaps... she wouldn't mind a little company?

This is stupid, Rinwell tried to tell herself. Then she argued that it would be even more stupid to just sit by herself and stew in her thoughts. So, the young mage drew in a breath and decided to move a little closer to Leia. The worst that could happen was that things would just be awkward.

"Hey..."

"Do you... mind if I join you?"

"You realize who you're talking about, right? The Necromancer wouldn't just let this go."

"We're seriously still talking about this? It's a bit the Colonel did twice. Maybe he got tired of it."

"I don't think that's really his style, Tear."

"Dammit, Guy, why did you have to say something earlier?? I've been paranoid that he'll pop up at any moment!"

The four devolve into arguing. The camera pans to Jade and Ion.

"Well. It seems they're having fun."

"You were just avoiding saying anything so they'd get riled up. Weren't you, Jade."

"Indeed. What a delightful Lorelei's Fonon Frequency Day it has been as a result."

"You don't think you're giving the Colonel too much credit there, Asch? What if he's waiting for the perfect moment to strike?"

What’s the best thing about the fandom? (Tales of)

(ooc: The character diversity! There's just such a range of characters to choose from, and I love seeing all the different ones different muns in the fandom are drawn to. You'll see some more than others, but the fact that you can see people writing characters from some of the games that are less popular just like you'll see people writing characters from the more popular games? It fills me with joy.

Like every time I see someone plucking up a character from Legendia in particular? Pure joy. I just love seeing which characters are liked by muns throughout the fandom. Which yeah, you probably could say for series of JRPGs that have more than one game too. Like Final Fantasy. Still, it just fills me with such joy, you know?

Not to mention there being more than just humans in the series means there's plenty of range for OCs too!)

Okay but can we talk about how, the instant Pascal says that Sophie could potentially lose her sight as a result of Richard's attack at World's Eye, Hubert is the first one to immediately jump back to trying to heal Sophie? HE CARES ABOUT HER SO MUCH 😭

Like of course it's the Lhant trio that are the ones immediately surrounding Sophie after the attack, with Pascal and Malik hanging back a bit. Those three have known Sophie the longest. But just... Hubert in particular. He's so soft for her, and there's a reason I really believe she's his closest friend in the party.
