“François Agreste, chairman and CEO of French group Kering and Jung Seongwoo, CEO of South Korea’s SK group are coming under fire after an investigation regarding Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro and his management of natural resources, specifically in the Amazon rainforest and the country’s oil reserves.
According to Brazilian officials, the businessmen were involved in bribing Bolsonaro to get resources primarily for SK Group, who would then build a couple stadiums in Rennes and Paris, owned by Agreste and his family.”

and then silence.
florian agreste stands frozen in the middle of his living room. his eyes slowly loosing their light as his head battles to understand that his life is no longer his. maybe it was never his to begin with. perhaps he’s being overdramatic. but he grew up with françois truffaut and charles aznavour, goddamn it. of course he is going to make a drama out of it. because it’s not even his own fault that he now has to stay behind in a fucking small island in the middle of the aegan sea. he didn’t want this. it wasn’t his choice.
as he sits on one of the armchairs with his head between his hands, he wonders how did it come to this. he thinks of sihyun and what eventually tore their friendship apart. back then, the pain of loosing his best friend had been so strong that he was sure it was karma. it was the universe’s way to keep things balanced again. but now he knows it’s not true. now he knows it will haunt him for the rest of his life. for as long as he’s françois agreste’s son and heir.
it’s no surprise for him, not really, that his father is suddenly involved in a corruption scandal. he’s known for as long as he can remember that françois agreste is no enemy of jumping the law whenever he deems it beneficial for his company. and at first, florian would confront him about it, specially when he knew there were people’s lives and welfare on the line. but as he started working on the company, all florian could do was make sure yves saint laurent remained as ethical as possible while the rest of the conglomerate rotted from the inside.
in a way, florian is his father’s accomplice. he stayed in his corner. never did anything about it. benefited from his father’s corruption his whole life. it pains him to admit it, even if it’s only to himself, but he was slowly starting to make peace with the fact that one day, he would become his father. he’s meant to take his place after all. but what goes around comes around. and now françois is finally paying the consequences of his actions. and florian is paying the consequences of his own: his silence.
and if he thinks about it with a cold head, it’s really not that bad. he has to stay in kaos for a few months now. probably ‘till the beginning of the year. he’ll miss paris fashion week and christmas at grandma’s. but his father will find a way to get out of this. with money, as usual. and before he knows it, things will go back to normal. he’ll be able to go back home. and now he gets to stay with beau, vera, levi, arlo.
it’s bittersweet. ‘cause as much as he wanted to stay in kaos. this isn’t the way he wanted it to happen. hiding like a rat while the scandal dies down. staying quiet while his father makes sure florian’s name doesn’t come up anywhere in the investigations. they can’t afford to stain the name of the future ceo of the biggest conglomerate in france.
and what does florian do? exactly as he’s told. he stays behind, hidden. even when guilt is eating up at him. at the end of the day, he knows he’s just like them. one of the bad guys. the ones to blame for all the injustice in the world.
