Happy Storyteller Saturday! What are some stories that have really stuck with you?

I will talk about the latest ones, cause I have too many to pick from - we writers are really formed by our fave stories aren't we XD - and I'm still reeling from them.

Best recent stories I have seen are Inception, The Departed and Body of Lies.

Inception is just masterpiece on world, dreaming, consciousness, plot, action, story and character. It has everything I could ever want a story to be, plus it's unique and amazing and mind-blowing. This is what art looks like.

The Departed is such a play with character angst, feels and suffering. I don't normally enjoy thrillers or sad endings, but damn this was something. This is what it looks like when the trust friendship thing we love to write so much doesn't work out.

Body of Lies has a better ending where the trust thing does work out eventually for the protags, very charismatic cast, and actual plot. I didn't even understand everything, this was made after a book from a real intelligence expert. It was cool seeing a movie set in Jordan, that I actually visited, but felt so foreign.

Some classics that stuck with me are Red Winter Trilogy, Ghibli movies like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away and Darker Shade of Magic trilogy from V.E. Schwab.

Also I lately discovered this old old cop show Starsky and Hutch from 1975s, and it's the hurt/comfort and bromance in this show is so pure and real. The two partners have such a great heartfelt purely platonic relationship, it's wonderful to watch.

Plus it actually still has an active fandom? How can something so old have a such a big fandom? Fanfics and tumblr blogs dedicated to it? The fanfics are a quality stuff let me tell you😁

It’s tough just to choose one chapter Ryen so I gotta go with house party and yoongi’s interlude: dal segno. Those two have stuck with me cause of how angst filled they are and yoongi really starting to self reflect makes it hit quite close to home, they’re comforting and validating to read.

Eric🥺💕 those two are definitely hard hitting ones as far as getting to see Yoongi’s perspective. I’m still in shock from you showing up and seeing that there are guys reading 3tan of their own discovery?? Like a historic moment here😭

We’re all going through our own shit, no matter who we are. I’m glad it’s still comforting and validating to read despite all the angst, and I hope you will continue to resonate with 3tan yoongi🥹

FL3 and OG 3tan. They’re what brought me to your work (via Ao3) and then to you.

FL3 was my first. I read it in one night. Probably in under 2 hours if I’m being honest. I devoured it, and as I write this I’m thinking it’s time for a reread. And just as they do with you, but in another way, they hold such a strong place in my heart. I adore them, their journey, and what they grew together.

3tan was a little while later, but as I’ve told you many a time:

And I think that sums it up pretty well.

Funny enough, I wrote that before there was ever a part 2. It had just been released on Ao3 and was/actually still is written under my “to be continued // to check in on” list, cuz even way back then I was already hoping there would be more to the story. I was so intrigued by them and their dynamic, their family lives and friends, and here we are a year and a bit later.

They’re all great, your works, but these two have my heart in a chokehold.

i have to say 3tan, although i think i can't chose a single chapter. your writing moved me in ways i think you can't even imagine and it was what pushed me to write that whole analysis too. it's just so good, i feel like it's a masterpiece so it's hard to think of another story (tho, tbf, i haven't had the time to read that many stories of yours yet)

Oh, lua… you are way too kind to me and your support has meant the whole world. Truly. It’s totally okay if you can’t pick a chapter and instead see it glad a whole entity! It really is the story of yoongi and reader anyway so either in whole or parts is fine🥹 thank you endlessly for the whole analysis and for all the love!! Masterpiece? I love 3tan. I reallllly do. I love Flutter.

But honestly. First Love, Last Love with always have a special place in my heart. Always. It was one of the first fics of yours I found.

Yeah.. I don’t know how I did it but I wrote that in what.. two weeks? 33k in two weeks and it honestly felt like I was living two lives: one in this current world and one in that one, and I couldn’t stop until I wrote everything I needed to. Talk about leaving a piece of my heart inside🎹🤍 It will always be special to me, too, and I’m glad you were able to find it and this blog🫂
