I believe she is right. Forgiveness never has to be given to anyone. It’s always a gift. But it is also a healer, for both the giver and the receiver. I’m struggling with this. Does he deserve my forgiveness? No, I done owe it to him. But do I owe it to myself? This poem is beautiful because of the many ways we can interpret it in our own life experience.
