This project was my final for my drawing class and almost 3 months old. I actually like it still. And you know what they say about an artist on their own work: we are our own worst critic. On the other hand, it allowed me to try out a medium that previously had been something I avoided with a ten foot pole. Charcoal has now become my best friend. Limited use makes for darker marks than its graphite counterpart but with slightly more trips to empty the pencil sharpener👍🏼

Four rolls of developed film are waiting for me at my house. I can't wait to go home to see which shots are good and which ones suck.
Lunch today came out to $6/person.
30 Days of Growth Challenge - Day 21
Day 21- Your favorite medium of art.
Digital. Don't get me wrong, I love traditional art as well. I just happen to prefer the advantages of digital art. It's a lot easier to fix digital stuff and while traditional can be fixable, it's dang fucking hard to do sometimes. With digital being so easy to fix I think it's a lot easier for even amateurs to look pretty good, whereas with traditional flaws and lack of skill seem more pronounced in my view. I also think that because digital is still a relatively new medium compared to traditional art (and again because it's easy to fix things) there's just more interesting stuff to look at digital art wise. People are just more willing to break the boundaries with digital art and experiment since anything they do can be undone. Most traditional artists these days seem overly focused on being traditional artists and are really sticking to the unspoken rule books in a lot of cases (i.e. they're focused not on what they're making but on the how). In either case, right now my favorite medium is definitely digital and I look forward to its future.
