There is just something about that enemies to lovers tag. The more pain and betrayal there is, the more sweeter and sexier the hurt/comfort part kicks in. Like yea, you've gutted your one true love and left them there to die after dramatically killing your adopted daughter and your beloved's bestie, like sure you've made really questionable choices and were left in a tin suit with a shitty ventilation device that makes you sound iconic by the hands of the person you trusted the most, and in turn betrayed the most, and I mean SURE you're sworn enemies and all but that tension? That, thick, hot, tension??? And the sweet sweet confrontations and communication? It's so hot. It's hotter than some of smuttiest smuts on Ao3 and I've exploited that tag a lot.
