yeah i was feeling this too. like even in her apology she called amethyst the ‘best of the gems’ just based on her preconceived notions of them. tolerating pearl as a team member isnt enough. and who knows about garnet yet.

Yeah, same. I think that was meant to be fucked up, I mean it’s so obvious that it has to be???? But WE’LL SEE I guess. 

I mean, from what we know of Homeworld’s culture and Peridot’s loyalty to it, it would be unrealistic for her to let go of this stuff quickly, but man, even though I love SU, media is generally so shitty about this kinda stuff I can’t help but be nervous they’ll gloss over this whole thing too much. PLEASE PAY OFF.

I thought it was interesting that she wasn't even seen as a servant class. Peridot described her more like an accessory. Pearls don't work according to her. They look nice and hold your things. Not even suppose to be useful :'(

Good point good point! I think there are still elements of social class that are going to be in play moving forward, but her class distinction as an accessory, or decorative being over even being an individual I find at least from my understanding of general caste systems (which I largely tend to compare these theorized Gem classes to) is quite a bit different distinction.
