" tone is playful, more than it's ever been in the last few years. there's a three year old that has gripped their turkey leg in a tight fist, immediately taking a big bite that ultimately looks as if a small bunny has taken a bite. sol is giggling when the firefighter pries the food from his grasp and uses a nearby napkin to clean oil from his hands. " he has quite the appetite, " august comments with a quiet chuckle while his eyes scan over the foods with sol's tiny bites— churros, a plate of nachos, a piece of caramel apple and now, the turkey leg. they turn their attention to noemi but makes sure to stay in place while sol continues to explore the food on the table. over a thousand miles between them and gianna still finds herself picking up whatever pieces her sister has shattered, which does nothing more than sour whatever good mood she may have been in. she foolishly assumed running off to texas would mean she'd finally get to breathe. gianna falls into the trap of using fair food to make her feel better— it's thirty minutes later that she finds a bucket of french fries and a cold glass of beer. she walks aimlessly through the fair with no intent to really ride anything until coming across the ferris wheel. the line isn't too long when she joins it before she spots merrick, standing just a few people ahead of her. " merrick ! " gianna calls and elegantly skips the line to catch up with her partner. " got room for one more ? i come bearing treats. " she lifts the food and drink in her hands.
