Awkward Myths || Nigel and Colette
Nigel loved the library, he loved the books, he loved the learning, he loved the quiet, he loved when he wasn't yelled at or kicked out for being loud. He loved it all. He never read the same book twice and rarely even finished the book he started reading, he simply enjoyed the feel of a book in his hands and the way the paper floated between his fingers as he turned the pages. Today he was hanging around the Mythology section. There was another person there too, one of the female type. He'd seen her before. More than once in fact, she seemed to enjoy the library too. He held the book close to his nose while he peeked over the top. Discretely, not, sliding over to her and watching her for a moment. "So Apollo and Artemis are not hooking up like I first thought. Turns out they're actually brother and sister, and she's sworn off men. So... That's a game changer." It might have been an odd way to start the conversation, but Nigel felt like it was a good ice breaker. He moved the book away from his nose ever so slightly and looked at her while turning the page. "Also, Artemis is kind of a bad ass. Which is great. Although women in Greece and the like have always been treated differently than the women here. I don't know why though, what was the point... Oh yes, I think it's great that she's a bad ass because a lot of people never respected women in history books and the like, so this," he poked his book while looking over at her, "this has got it right." He leaned forward, looking for some type of title on her book before leaning back again and standing up straight when he didn't see it. "Reading anything good?"
