Peer Educator Program to be launched in Western Cape
The Allied Movement for Change's, Executive Deputy Chairperson, Fazlin Fransman, has recently been initiating a "Support a Child" campaign in the Western Cape. This campaign saw her deliver motivational talks at several schools over the past three months with the key message being :
"Poverty is no excuse. It is an obstacle yes, a mountain yes, but it is no excuse. As individuals we have the agency to change our own lives. That agency is our ability to choose. We must choose good over evil. We must choose education over banking. We must choose a better life over a mediocre life. We MUST choose"
These talks have laid the foundation for the launch of an peer educator program to be run in various communities with the aim of building leadership capacity amongst youth.
"The youth are the future of our country. We need to ensure they have the necessary skills to be able tackle the challenges they will face in the future," said Fazlin Fransman
