I have a few rules for family templates that will help everyone in the family template business.
1. If you have a child that isn't white don't have two white parents.
We see it all too often. Someone has an actress or actor who is at least one half of a race that isn't White yet uses two White parents. This is not okay. How did that child turn out the way they did unless the mother was with someone else? Please stop this now.
2. Same skin and hair color does not equal relation.
Half of the family templates feature nothing other than people with the same hair color. While this does happen sometimes most of the time you can tell family members by facial structure. Not every girl with brown hair can be related.
3. Just because they're the same race it doesn't make them family.
This is incredibly racist and I see it all too much. Someone gets Zoe Kravitz as a template starter and picks the first four African-American actors and actresses they can find. A lot of the time they're also different skin colors. There isn't only one color of skin per race okay? This promotes the idea that everyone of the race looks the same. Just because they're the same race doesn't mean they're family and I can't stress this enough. There are facial features to look at no matter what race.
4. Stop putting psds or fancy colors over your template.
All this tells me is that your choices don't really look like family so you tried to cover up by blinding us with a bright blue psd.
5. Just because it's your favorite picture doesn't mean you have to use it.
Too often i see pictures of the actors and actresses making odd faces. These pictures are cute but make it harder for a side by side comparison to see if they actually could be related to the other actors and actresses you chose.
6. Not all Asians are the same.
Didn't think I had to write that down. There's a difference between Korean and Chinese, if you need help there are websites you can look up the ethnic and racial backgrounds of actors and actresses out there. Don't be lazy it looks entirely too racist.
7. Logan Lerman can not be related to everybody.

Neither can Asa Butterfield. Stop putting them in every other family template.
