BIOGRAPHY

Stanley’s great, great grandfather hailed from Island, and shipped his family off to America during the great famine seeking a new life for he and his family. Stanley himself was born just outside Houston, Texas, but he prides himself on his family heritage.

He was raised with traditional Irish morales - faith in God and your craft. It just so happened that Stanley took up the same work his father did: Carpentry. Although Carpenters weren't necessarily in demand, Stanley chose a life of simplicity and humility over technology and knowledge. Of course, he was criticized, with many of his neighbours arguing he ‘get with the times’, but Stanley was a stubborn man, even though his friends were probably right.

Inheriting his father’s good looks and his grandfather’s charm, Stanley was a big hit amongst the ladies in his tiny village. As a teenager he had many lovers whom were smitten for him - but for Stanley there only ever was one woman for him. Call it fate, but Stanley’s sweetheart also hailed from Ireland. 

Caoimhe Brady and her family arrived in town just a few months after Stanley’s 19th birthday. Stanley wanted to keep his ‘tough-guy’ reputation, so at first, he avoided admitting his affection for her outwardly, but as he matured, he realised his feelings for her meant a lot more than the opinions of others.

The two of them married 2 years later with a quiet ceremony in the local church. Much joy was had on that day - it was a start of a new life for Stanley, and his family couldn't be prouder. He had taken over the family business, and now he had a beautiful wife by his side. The next step for the two of them seemed obvious - a child.

For years, the two of them tried to conceive, and each time they were left with more bitter disappointment. Eventually, the couple decided to call it quits, ruling that they just weren't meant to be parents. Their once loving marriage soon turned bitter, and was hanging by a thread - when it seemed that things couldn't get any worse, all hell broke loose. 

Stanley clocked out early from work the day everything started. He promised his wife, tonight, he’d make an extra effort to prepare a special dinner, hopefully to reignite the spark between the two of them. On his way home, he noticed that things weren't as normal as they seemed.

The streets were deserted and littered with what appeared to be corpses. Panicked and disgusted, Stanley picked up the pace, and arrived home just in time to rescue his wife from the neighbour, whose jaws were ready and clamp around her neck. Terrified, the two of them ran. 

For what seemed like years, they never had a place where they felt safe. So Stanley created one - what is known today as Barton Hollow, started out as a patch of dead grassland. It took a lot of blood, sweat and hard work to make the outpost what it is today, and for that, Stanley is proud. In some ways, it’s like the child he never had, and for these reasons, he’ll risk his life to maintain order and stability. 

PERSONALITY

Stanley is a proud, capable man. He’s old and ugly enough to know the world isn't the happy, generous world you’re brought up to believe it is. He firmly believes trust should be earned, rather than given out freely. Those who are lucky enough to be welcomed into his society must earn their keep, or risk eviction.

Power, is one thing Stanley likes to have. Some may say complete and utter control of Barton Hollow is what keeps him sane. There are few who would dare cross his ruthless and unforgiving nature, and those who have, are not around to speak about it.

Beneath his rough, and intimidating exterior is a loving, family man, desperate to keep his wife and himself safe. He still clings to the hope that one day, there may be an heir to take over what he started. That dream is all that keeps him going.

Caoimhe O’Keeffe: Despite the struggles, hardships and problems, Caoimhe still remains his one and only. Stanley may not show it, but he loves his wife dearly, and would go by any means necessary to keep her safe and happy. The apocalypse, ironically, brought the two closer together, and their relationship is on the mend.

Lissy Spencer: Lissy was one of the first people to join the ranks of Barton Hollow, and since then she has shown herself to be a very useful runner. Majority of Barton Hollow’s more ‘valuable’ items have been recovered by Lissy. Stanley keeps a close eye on her however, as it seems her new friends taking residence may make her loyalties sway. 

Elisha Vetrov: Stanley hasn't know Elisha and his company for too long, but he can already see him as a developing hazard - one that much be contained. He and Elisha are both very similar: ambitious leaders with high hopes for the future. There is only room for one Leader at Barton Hollow, and Stanley intends to remain as it.

BIOGRAPHY

The Spencer’s were one of the most known families around their neighbourhood. Charles was an important attorney, revered by many for cleaning their dirty dishes, God knows he had heard the most scandalous stories from his known neighbours, but he was always there for them to clean all mess and keep their neighbourhood as one of the most prestigious ones. Susan was a housewife, an important job indeed, her days consisted on attending to her husband and only daughter, Elizabeth. 

Cooking was her favourite hobby, and she had the chance to show off when they organized monthly neighbourhood gatherings, no one had been able to take the roll of hostess as good as she used to do it. Apple pies, chocolate cakes, fruit punch, everything neatly displayed on their dining table, ready to receive everyone.

Amongst the families that assisted to these gatherings were the Turners, they had been living in the house right by the Spencer's since what it seemed an eternity. And so, Elizabeth and Josh grew up together as close friends.

Due to her parents protective nature, Elizabeth had a very restricted childhood, always doing what they thought was best for her. Ballet classes, piano lessons and a very strict schedule to study, for they hoped she could apply to the best university in the country once she finished high school. It wasn’t a surprise their precious daughter rebelled against them. When she and Josh were 15 and 17 years old respectively, they decided to change their lifestyles. Together they would sneak out their houses to go to parties, and unavoidably get in trouble. Nothing they couldn't hide from their parents of course.

Soon enough the Spencer's heard stories about the so called, golden boy Joshua Turner. There were people that even said he was in a drug dealing gang. Horrified by all these stories Elizabeth’s parents decided to implement a more strict way to raise her, which only made things worse for them; Lizzy wasn’t going to stop seeing her best friend just because her parents said so. 

Indeed she never stopped seeing Joshua, the rumours were echoed down to silence thanks to Charles’s influence, a thing the Turners were forever thankful for. By this time Elizabeth was 21 years old, but unlike her parents had planned, she didn’t entered a prestigious university. She decided to take a place in a public college, simply because she knew that would annoy them.  

Her parent’s problems were far from over, for this very same year a new family had arrived to their beloved neighbourhood. An unusual family. The Vetrov’s were nothing like the image the Spencer's had been working so hard to preserve. They found out soon enough what they were, and like what happened back in Russia, they shunned them. All except for Elizabeth, who was drawn to them because of their uniqueness. Soon she and Josh had become very good friends of the Vetrov siblings, and despite what her parents might have thought about it, she had fallen for Elisha Vetrov.

They began seeing each other, hiding it from her parents to avoid problems. She was determined to make this relationship work, and she could see Elisha wanted the same. But their perfect world was over as fast as it had begun.

Her parents had found out about their relationship and forced Elizabeth to leave the neighbourhood for a couple of months to her grandmother’s place outside Atlanta, hoping she might forget about Elisha. She kicked and screamed when her father dragged her to the car and drove away as Elisha ran to try and catch them. Little did she know, this was going to be the very last image she’d have of him.

Months passed, and she grew bitter, her grandmother wasn’t the one to blame, it was her parents, she never cringed to the thought of never seeing them again, in fact she wished it.

One summer day, after attending to her chores at her grandmother’s greenhouse she sat with her to watch her favourite soap opera. But instead of the regular transmission she saw chaos, all around Atlanta. The news channels didn’t stop talking about this strange outbreak that was affecting everyone all across the country. Soon she found out the roads had been closed and the government had declared state of emergency. Elizabeth thought about Josh, Jolene and Elisha back in Atlanta. She had to go back and join them, but she couldn't leave her grandmother alone.

After a few agonizing days of not hearing any news, a group of the military showed up in the area. They were there to evacuate any survivors that were still alive. Elizabeth didn’t think it twice, there was a small chance her friends could have made it there, so she took everything she could and left with her grandmother in one of the army trucks.

But, when they were about to reach the road that lead to possible salvation, everything turned to chaos. One of the persons the army had rescued was infected, and the creature that rose up managed to unleash mayhem single-handedly. Their truck crashed, and all the commotion had drawn more and more of those creatures to them like flies to honey. Lizzy tried to save her grandmother, but everything happened too fast, the monsters had taken her and there was nothing else she could have done. She ran and ran until she couldn't run anymore.

Afraid, and with no supplies Elizabeth thought she was going to die right then and there. A group of no more than 15 people found her, right by the side of a makeshift bonfire. She soon would come to learn their leader’s name was Stanley, and that he had ambitious ideas.

PERSONALITY

Lizzy’s determination may seem to some as stubbornness, but after being raised by very strict parents she has decided that no one else is going to tell her what she should or shouldn't do. This, of course, has given her problems. Especially now with Stanley as her leader, she has had to learn to control her impulses to tell him to go hell. However her loyalty to those she considers her friends is true, she would do anything to help them, even if this gets her into trouble.

BIOGRAPHY

As a member of the wealthy upper class, Cyrus Erikson should have been among the safest people in the world during the apocalypse. For a while, he was, but he learned that walkers don’t care who your momma or daddy is, don’t care that you go to an Ivy League, don’t care how many digits the balance of your bank account has. Money might have cushioned him and delayed the effect of the outbreak for a while, but it hit him and his family all the same.

Cyrus grew up among shining tall buildings in Manhattan. He slept in penthouses and purchased cars for fun. His mother was the CEO of a Fortune-500 company and his father was a New York real estate tycoon. His brother and sister were 10 and 11 years old when he was born so he was raised more like an only child. By the time he was only 10 years old, his sister had finished undergraduate and his brother was studying abroad in Australia. Cyrus grew older knowing he was an unplanned child—after all, none of the kids he knew had adult siblings and it wasn't hard to put two and two together—but the love and attention he received from his parents prevented him from feeling unwanted.

In the world he grew up in, he was lucky to receive as much attention from his parents as he did. Cyrus was one of the few kids at his private high school who had a parent regularly attending his basketball and soccer games. His friends were always acting out and taking advantage of the lack of parental guidance because they barely saw their parents for more than a few hours a week. He, on the contrary, was much more responsible. Cyrus and his family vacationed in the Hamptons and closed off resorts in other countries. Because of his kind nature and good looks, Cyrus was popular in high school. Teachers enjoyed having him in their classes and they sent great recommendations to the colleges he applied to.

Not one for travelling, Cyrus didn’t send applications to any far away schools; they were all mostly in the North-East. He decided to go to Brown University to study medicine, which is where he was when the outbreak happened. His parents assured him that everything would be fine and the government would control the situation, but when Rhode Island declared a state of emergency and a ban on travel, his parents had a helicopter flown in to pick him up. As far as he knows, he was probably one of the few people who managed to get out of Providence before the city was overrun. When he joined his parents, they flew together to his father’s parents’ ranch in Texas where his father grew up. They left behind almost everything and were extremely lucky to leave New York City when they did. Cyrus’s parents worked hard to get his brother and sister to join the family at the ranch, but his sister, now a surgeon in Boston, opted to remain at the hospital she worked at to help in any way she could. His brother, who lived in Australia because he loved it so much after studying there, never made it to Texas either. Australia closed its borders before he could leave.

Cyrus, his parents, grandparents, and an uncle were prepared to wait out the outbreak. They lost contact Cyrus’s sister within a couple weeks and his brother soon after. He read horror stories over social media and kept in contact with his friends who managed to stay safe in situations similar to his for the first couple months before the updates stopped coming and he lost cell phone and data service altogether. The Erikson’s spent their time reading, telling stories, playing music, fishing, taking care of the livestock, and worrying. They survived much longer than many other people. On a particularly hot day, Cyrus’s uncle went down to the stream to swim despite the family’s warnings that it wasn't safe and no one suspected that he was bit until, a few hours after he returned, he attacked and ate the elderly grandparents. A struggle ensued and Cyrus’s parents were both infected before his father shot down his uncle. Cyrus stayed with his parents and they forced him to promise to shoot them when they turned.

In the end, Cyrus was unable to keep his promise when they turned and he ran with the shotgun he was supposed to use on them, a hand gun, a rifle, bullets, and some supplies. He drove his grandfather’s pick-up truck for as far as the gas lasted and then continued on foot, searching for water and shelter. By sheer luck, he ran into people from Barton Hollow, who were on a supply run. They had their guns on him before he could even touch his pistol, but after he explained his educated background they decided to take him with them. Doctor’s were a rare and valuable resource, and so far his usefulness in the Clinic is what has kept him alive.

PERSONALITY

In his neighbourhood in Manhattan, Cyrus was considered to be the “Golden Boy.” The reckless nature of his friends in school forced him to be more responsible for their sake and he was often the designated person to call for a taxi. He carried and helped drunk friends into their apartments and made sure they were awake the next morning for classes. Cyrus is very Chaotic Good and an eternal optimist - a quality other sometimes find foolish. 

His emotions control his actions and his heart is bigger than his brain. Pathos appeals to him much more than ethos and logos, which has gotten him into trouble several times, especially in a post-apocalyptic world. He once tried to help a little girl he found alone but, she ended up stealing all of his food and water. He falls in love much too easily, he has a tendency to chase after people who are wrong for him, and he’s never had a successful relationship. 

Romance and intimacy clouds his judgement and he’s unable to see flaws in people he’s taken a liking too. He trusts people until they give him a reason not to and he has been prepared to go to jail for his friends, not realising they used him to do something illegal.

Neave Tanner: Neave reminds Cyrus a lot of his sister - headstrong, independent, everything that he isn't. Though jealousy for most would cause problems, often escalating into anger, Cyrus admires Neave greatly and could learn a thing or two from her. Occasionally Neave will defend Cyrus from those who tease him about his kind-hearted nature, and more often than not she is one of the only persons to do so, alongside Jolene.

Elisha Vetrov: Eli and Cyrus don’t exactly see eye to eye, his own optimistic behaviour often clashing with Eli’s own pessimism - which El describes as ‘realism.’ It doesn't help that Eli has caught notice of Cyrus’s quite obvious affections for his younger sister, Jolene and he takes great pleasure in teasing him about it.

Jolene Vetrova: Jolene makes Cyrus feel all mushy and fluttery inside. Whenever he sees her, his heartbeat speeds up and he can just feel himself blushing. For Jolene, Cyrus can imagine this makes her feel awkward around him too. The two of them have a good working relationship within the Clinic, and she often assists him with the patients - Cyrus wishes they could be more than just ‘colleagues.’

BIOGRAPHY

Born into a Christian family, Joshua’s childhood was no different than the one his friends had. As an only child, he was raised with strict rules about what was right and what was wrong. His life was monotonous, a constant repeat of going to school, going to church and playing with his friends. The problems didn't appear till his 15th birthday where he discovered a completely different lifestyle.

 All of his friends were sneaking out to go to parties, and he began to do the same. Joshua left behind that righteous life he was brought up to and exchanged it for a reckless, more thrilling lifestyle. In the eyes of his parents, Joshua was still that good boy they had raised so well. He was very good hiding his secret life from them.

His numerous affairs with women got him into a lot of trouble and he gained more enemies as the years went by, there was no girl that hadn't heard the name of Joshua Turner.

By the time he was 18, Joshua was in college, but he was still undecided on what he wanted to do once he graduated, luckily one of his friends had a pamphlet on the US Marine Corps, he read it and decided that after he graduated, he was going to join. After four years in college, with a degree in his hands, Josh enlisted in the Marine Corps, it wasn't exactly what his parents had in mind for him, but Joshua had decided that he was going to do what he wanted, for once.

And so the years went by, Josh became a Marine as he had planned. he was now 23 years old, but he was still the same reckless womaniser boy that knew no limits.

Shortly afterwards, he met the Vetrov’s - a new family in the neighbourhood who had migrated from Russia. He and the Vetrov siblings became good friends over a short period of time. He showed Elisha what the ‘good life’ meant, but Jolene was a different case. Unlike the rest of the women he had met, he would never dare to hurt her  with her elder brother being so protective, Joshua knew he would've gotten in trouble if he crossed the line.

The peacefulness in their neighbourhood came to a sudden end on one seemingly ordinary day.

Joshua was off duty, but the rest of his friends filled him in with the details. There was something strange going on in Atlanta, people were falling ill out of the blue, there was something in the water, they told him. It was in a concentrated area at first, but it didn't take long for it to spread through the rest of the city. Soon enough the government declared a state of emergency,and that was when the panic set in.

In an instant he was driving back to headquarters but suddenly he stopped abruptly, turned his car around and began to drive back to Atlanta. More news came in whilst he was heading back, his neighbourhood had been closed off for quarantine. Almost everyone there had either been infected or had died. There was no other option, he knew Jolene was at the Saint Joseph’s hospital, if he couldn't get to Elisha then he had to at least take Jolene out of the city with him and keep her safe, as her brother would've done.

PERSONALITY

Most of the people who had heard about the infamous Joshua Turner would've thought he was a complete idiot - that his kind of lifestyle would've driven to his doom. But if they had only taken a few moments of their busy lives to stop and talk to him, they would've changed their minds completely. Yes, he was a reckless boy, there’s no denying that, however friendship and loyalty means everything to him. If you're feeling down he'd do anything within his power to get a smile out of you.

Elisha Vetrov: Joshua had his doubts about Elisha when he first met him, his cold glance would've scared anyone away. However he decided to think past that and approach him. When the two of them met, Elisha’s family had recently migrated from Russia, Joshua helped the family integrate into the neighbourhood. The two of them became fast friends.

Jolene Vetrova: Joshua considers Jolene one of the sweetest persons he has ever met, which is why he would never treat her with disrespect, that and because Elisha would never forgive him if he did. Their friendship grew with time, and maybe something else too, although he has never said a single word about it to anyone.

Neave Tanner: Strange circumstances brought Neave and Josh together, and although he might have thought of her as the enemy they soon began to get to know each other. His always flirtatious personality could, at times, make her feel uneasy turning the atmosphere a little awkward.

Cyrus Erikson: Joshua still has his doubts about Cyrus, due to the circumstances in which they met. He sees him as the naive boy who works at the Barton Hollow clinic, and a possible rival when it comes to Jolene.

BIOGRAPHY

Taking care of others had been Jolene’s life since she could remember, so it’s no surprise she had decided to become a nurse as soon as she had the chance to do so. Like her brother, she too was born in a caravan in the outskirts of St. Petersburg, oblivious of the world outside their settlement. 

She was 7 years old when Elisha had ran off to the great city to discover the life of the “other people”, after the shock of his disappearance, her parents kept a watchful eye over the two of them. She started helping her mother with tending to the sick at their settlement. She soon knew the use of all the different herbs, chants and rituals to heal them.

But, like her brother, Jolene Alyona Vetrova wanted to know what was lying beyond the borders.

Little did she know that her wishes would come true, but only after her mother’s death. She was 15 at the time, but despite her young age, Jolene was already capable of taking care of herself. But if problems aroused, her brother, Elisha, was always there to keep her safe as he had always promised.

Due to their lack of money she and Elisha started going to the big city to dance and play for a few coins, it wasn't much but it fed them for a while. There was nothing more soothing for her than to hear Elisha playing his violin with such passion. After two years of a life of hardship their father decided it was time to move on and leave Russia to a “better place”. Jolene was dragged along to a new country, to a new life in America.

A year later, Jolene’s family was settled in the big city of Atlanta, Georgia. She joined college to become a nurse and now with more knowledge about the art of healing she was sure that this was what she was meant to do in this world. It didn't take her long to gain a few admirers, her fair blonde hair and sky blue eyes didn't go unnoticed by her classmates and neighbours. One in particular, Josh Turner, a 20 year old marine who became Elisha and Jolene’s best friend.

All was well with the Vetrov family, until the year Jolene turned 20 years old. She had left in the morning, as usual, to Saint Joseph’s Hospital to continue her practice, she couldn't even begin to imagine the events that would follow.

After her lunch break she and her classmates noticed a strange commotion in the emergency room. Several patients were checked in with peculiar symptoms: an extremely high fever, dehydration and strange marks on their skin. The doctors couldn't find a concrete explanation to these symptoms, they treated the fever and dehydration thinking it could be a new mutation of the flu virus, and so they sent most of them back home. But as the day when by people kept coming in with the same, strange symptoms.

 Staffing was growing short, so they asked the nurse practitioners to help out. Jolene saw the despair in the eyes of the families who were trying to find answers, but nobody knew anything. Things where getting out of hand. The days passed and the same patients kept coming and coming.

One day, while Jolene was on duty, she found Josh looking for her desperately, he said nothing and simple dragged her from where she stood, out of the hospital. Only after persistently asking what was going on did Josh tell her the truth. The government had declared a state of emergency, they had already begun clearing out the city, something had spread on through water, or so they believed, and had infected thousands of people. The her first thought that went straight through her mind was of her brother and father that were at home, but Josh had more bad news. 

Their neighbourhood was gone, with at least 95% of the population there either infected or deceased. In a matter of seconds her world had changed, but there was no time to grieve. Josh took her out of the hospital and together they ran away from Atlanta. Jolene believed her life had ended that day, she couldn't find her brother or father, Josh was was all she had left of those fond memories of home. Survival became priority.

PERSONALITY

Unlike her brother, Jolene has more of a level headed way of approaching things. She would be the first person to come to the aid someone who needed it, even a complete stranger. This can make her stubborn at times - not as stubborn as her brother, but stubborn and determined enough to achieve her goals.

Because of her past she had to grow up at a very young age, she had to learn to take care of herself, and as a result she’s prepared to take the lead and make decisions people her age could never even dream of tackling.

Elisha Vetrov: Her big brother can be a nuisance sometimes, but despite that there is no one more important to her in her life. Neave Tanner: Although the way Jolene and Neave met was odd,the two never really had a problem getting along; that could be because she and her brother have similar personalities, so Jolene can handle her quick temper and snide comments. Despite this, she has found Neave to be a good friend and someone she can trust. When the circumstances are in order they can work very well together as a team.

Cyrus Erikson: When Jolene and Cyrus met there was nothing more between the two other than the common knowledge they had on medical topics. After a while working together at the Barton Hollow Clinic, something else began blooming. He would come from time to time to have dinner with the rest of the group and seeing him there made her happy. And after a recent, tough incident she knew Cyrus could be someone really special to her. If he'd only let her.

Joshua Turner: Joshua and Jolene met when she and her family arrived in their new neighbourhood in Atlanta, and he soon became her best friend. Jolene was aware of Joshua’s reputation as a womaniser, but she could see past that and find that completely different person, a man who would give everything for his friends.

BIOGRAPHY

Life is never easy for someone with a heritage like the one Elisha has. They always say things behind your back and call you names; but that never seemed matter a great deal for him. Elisha Vladimir Vetrov was born in the outskirts of the great St. Petersburg, not in a hospital like most, or a house, but in a caravan just like the rest of his ancestors. People had many names for his kind: “beggars”, “fortune tellers”, “vagabonds” but gypsies had been the name they had used for centuries now.

He grew up oblivious of what was beyond the borders of his clan’s settlement. His parents had always protected him, so his little world was reduced to a few caravans and 20 people or so. But he wanted to know more, the adventure, the thrill of the unknown called out to him.

As soon as he turned 12 years old, he dared to escape, to go beyond the borders towards the great city; and it was then that he understood what the rest thought of he and his kind. 

He took his little leather bag with a few apples in it and left when his father had gone out to hunt. “It will only be for a few hours” he thought, “they won't even notice I’m gone”. He did reach the great city of St. Petersburg, he saw the big buildings, the cars, the people, the stores…the stores. It didn't take him long to get in trouble. 

He peeked in a store after he had spotted this shiny red truck in the shop window, the moment the people inside saw him, they knew what he was. His scruffy clothes and features were a dead giveaway. They threw him out, chasing him out the door and threatening to call the police. It was a bit of a shock for him, it was the first time he had been in contact with others, and this is how they'd treated him! 

When the sun started setting, he decided it was time to go back; when he reached their settlement his father and mother were reviled. they had been looking for him all day! That only landed him in more trouble. From then on, he never returned to the city other than to sell the copper pots his father used to make. 

He grew up strong, tall, and stubborn. His father had given him a crossbow on his 14th birthday and he taught him how to use it. He started helping with the hunt; it became his favourite thing in the whole world. His mother, on the other hand, gave him a violin, she taught him how to play it and it didn't take him long to master that either.

When he was just 20 years old, his mother died. He was a man perfectly capable of taking care of himself; but the loss of his mother hit him hard, his world was torn apart. His father began drinking, and abandoned the family business, Elisha became responsible for his younger sister, Jolene, who was just 15 at the time. 

The lack of money forced he and Jolene to the streets of the great city once again where he would play the violin and Jolene would dance for a few coins; it was certainly not much but it kept them going for a while. 

Two years passed since their mother’s death and their father decided it was time to move on but there weren't many job opportunities in Russia, not for them at least, they left the motherland to a better place, or so they thought.

A year later they were settled in Atlanta city, Georgia. They had a completely different life, his father got a perfectly respectable job as a mechanic and had quit drinking, Jolene was now 18 years old and was studying to become a nurse. Elisha decided to help his father at the garage, which he had named “Vetrov’s Auto.” From time to time, he'd pick up his violin and play to remember his mother, and what they had left behind.

Their life was too perfect for a while. They had finally found peace.

The year he turned 25 years old was a morning like any other. He had stayed home to help his father with the cars and Jolene had left to the local hospital for her practice. That morning, when he was fixing the engine of a beautiful 50’s black mustang, something started.

That morning his father had gone to see one of their neighbours who had taken ill - Ms Pratt, a forty year old woman who lived alone with her cats. She had always been kind to them, when others weren't, so Elisha’s father did what any good friend would've done. 

A couple days passed and Eli’s father was still bedridden with a strange fever that appeared during the night. Since Elisha hadn't heard much from him all day, he went to see if he needed something. He found his father sleeping soundly so he went to change the water from the glass that was sitting over his night-stand. His forehead was covered on little drops of sweat due to the fever, Elisha placed the back of his hand over it to check the temperature, he was practically burning alive. 

Startled he tried to move his hand away to reach a wet cloth but his father’s hand grabbed him suddenly. He was pulling Elisha’s wrist down towards him and it was then Elisha saw his father’s eyes, they weren't their usual green colour, they had turned yellow; and the skin on his arm was so pale he could see his father’s seeping through.

What happened next was a blur. He didn't have time to stop and think what was going on until afterwards. He saw his father rising up from the bed and glaring at him with his yellow eyes. Elisha tried to move his hand away but his grasp was so tight it was hurting him. In a flash he grabbed the glass that was on the night-stand and smashed it over his father’s head. The glass made his hand bleed, but he didn't think about that as his father’s grip on his arm was released. He found himself running back to the garage and searching for his crossbow, he knew that thing back there wasn’t his father anymore. 

He heard him coming, the smell of blood had given him away, when he saw him almost limping towards the garage doorway, growling like an animal, squeezed his eyes shut, hoping it was all a dream. He put his finger on the trigger and shot an arrow right between his father’s eyes and he fell to the ground limp, with a loud thud.

All he could think of now was that he had to find his sister, he had to keep her safe, he had to find out what was going on. 

From that moment on, Elisha never stopped running.

PERSONALITY

The very first impression you would get of Elisha is of a very serious guy. He’s not the type of person who goes around with a carefree smile, especially not now. When he needs something he is very determined to get it, no matter the way or the means necessary. 

Although he may sound like a very cold person, he has a warm side hidden behind that vacant stare. Elisha would give anything to defend his family, as they are what’s most important to him.

Due to the kind of life he’s had, he has built a wall around him and it’s because of this that it may take a few tries to gain his trust.

But he owes a lot to her, Neave helped Elisha a tough period of his life and after spending many years together, he eventually stopped thinking about her as an annoying childish woman. Love is a word that crosses his mind from time to time, however he won't say or do anything if she doesn't either.

Jolene Vetrova: She is his little sister and he will always be there to protect her from any danger that may come, even if it that danger is boys. Her soft personality is sometimes a problem between the two, but they have been through so much together there is nothing that can set them apart.

Cyrus Erikson: Cyrus is the complete opposite of Elisha; whilst he is optimistic and innocent, Elisha is more realistic and mature, which has brought more than one problem between the two. There are times when Elisha finds hard to even begin trusting this guy due to the circumstances in which they met. Nevertheless, he notices how his mere presence in the house makes his sister smile. It is for her, and only her that he has decided to give him a chance.

Joshua Turner: Joshua was the first person Elisha met when he and his family moved from Russia to Atlanta, and although Josh might seem a bit reckless he considers him his best friend. Joshua helped him to settle in their new neighbourhood, to meet more people and have new adventures. But his sudden interest in his sister Jolene, has him a little worried.

BIOGRAPHY

Neave’s childhood, was that of any other ordinary middle class girl. Her parents were well respected bankers and she went to a good school – her future was bright.

 At 16 years old, Neave met her high-school sweetheart. Sebastian Ackerman, whose easy smile, and twinkling green eyes made her melt. It was all rather cliché, but the two of them fell head over heels in love, planning out their lives together as they got older, and although her parents would’ve preferred Neave dated that “nice, quiet boy from Church” they accepted Sebastian into the family, regardless. Their daughter was happy, and that was the only thing that mattered.

Come high-school graduation, Neave and Sebastian were still going strong. A smart girl, Neave was preparing to graduate with the highest of honours, with multiple scholarships behind her, when she received some unforeseen news: she was pregnant.

Like any 18 year old girl would be, she was scared. She panicked, she cried. In her eyes, her whole life was over. She couldn’t raise a child and go to university. What would Sebastian think? Neave knew that he loved her, but neither of them were ready to be parents. When she finally told him, she had expected him to leave her – an outcome she had already prepared herself for, but to her surprise, Sebastian wasn’t angry nor did he want to leave her, he was delighted.

Although relieved, Neave wasn’t quite as enthusiastic as he was, but when the attended their first ultrasound together, she knew she wanted the baby.

The news didn’t go down as well with her parents, which was anticipated, but Sebastian assured them he’d find a well paying job to support his child, whilst Neave continued with her studies.

University was a difficult adjustment for Neave, with her hormones all over the place; she found it difficult to cope with her work load, whilst also preparing for motherhood. There were several points in her life where Neave was almost at breaking point, but Sebastian was always there to pick up the pieces, and get her motivated again.

By the time their daughter – Elizabeth, was born, Neave was well on her way to graduating with a degree in Environmental Engineering. When Neave graduated, at 22 her little ray of sunshine was ready to start school.

She and Sebastian moved into together shortly after her graduation and focused on becoming a real family, and although they weren’t married, there were never any problems between the two of them, as their only priority was Elizabeth.

It was just another normal day at work for Neave, when she received the call. The sun was high in the sky, and she wasn’t due home for another few hours, but after the school nurse told her that there’d been an accident with Elizabeth in the school playground, Neave booked the rest of the day off and drove down to the school as fast as the roads would carry her.

When she got there, everything seemed fine, just a little bump to her head where Elizabeth had fallen over. The nurse assured that she’d be fine but Neave knew better, and she drove Elizabeth straight to the hospital. What was just a simple bump on head soon became an increasingly threatening injury.  

Seeing her little girl lying there on a bed with all these tubes and monitors surrounding her, slowly tore Neave apart. Sebastian begged her to come home, he knew there was no use in sitting around – the doctors would treat Elizabeth as best they could but Neave wouldn't budge.

For 4 days, Neave sat by the hospital bed, watching the life drain out of her Elizabeth and by the time the doctors informed her of the devastating news, and switched off the life support, Neave was numb.

She couldn't cry. She couldn't feel anything. All there was now was emptiness. Telling Sebastian she was taking a quick drive to clear her head, Neave got in her car and drove as far as the road would take her, stopping only for gas when she needed it. She never looked back.

The next time Neave woke up, she was in a hospital bed with a high pitched ringing in her ears and a splitting headache. She called for a nurse but no one answered, there was only an eerie silence. After rummaging around for some clothes, Neave took to the desolate hospital corridors, wandering around dazed and confused. She couldn't remember anything, and whenever she tried to think back her head just hurt even more.  Neave could remember her name at least, that was a good start.

The whole situation of a zombie apocalypse was a bit overwhelming for a woman with significant amnesia and possible head injuries, but with the hordes of then undead that surrounded the area, a doctor’s appointment was the least of Neave’s problems.

PERSONALITY

It takes more than severe knock to the head to strip Neave of her fiery temper. To those who don’t know her, Neave can come across as a little blunt, to the point of rudeness; but underneath her sarcastic and snide exterior is a loyal and dependable young woman who is eager to please.

It may take a little time to gain her trust with Neave being a little sceptical and hesitant around strangers, but Neave has a big heart and a lot of love to give.

Elisha Vetrov: When Neave first met Elisha, the pair didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye, their strong and bold personalities often clashing and causing heated arguments between the two of them. If you asked Neave what she thought of Eli two years ago, she would've probably said he was an arrogant and childish idiot, however these days she would probably still tell you that he’s an idiot, but not without her cheeks flushing bright red, followed by a swift change of topic. Although she may not express her affection for him outwardly, Neave is pretty sure he’s caught on by now. But as long as Eli doesn't say anything, neither will she.

Jolene Vetrova: Jolene and Neave met in some rather strange circumstances, but despite that, they've always managed to get along. Despite her age, Jolene is very mature, and sometimes Neave can aggravate Jolene with her childish sense of humour, but they always manage to put their differences aside, and stick together as a team when the situation arises.

Cyrus Erikson: Cyrus has a strange character about him, and Neave isn't sure if she likes that about him or not. To her, he’s just Jolene’s friend from the Clinic that sometimes stays for dinner. Whilst she doesn't mind him being there – his obvious fondness for Jolene can sometimes result in awkward silence around the house, Neave finds his innocence is cute, even though she does tease him about it sometimes.
