"yeah , i know , but it should heal with some ointment and ibuprofen for the pain , okay ?" meredith closes the patient's chart and then goes to get the discharge papers ready . she notices someone who , unless she's visiting , isn't really supposed to be here at this hour . "hello , i'm dr. meredith grey ," she greets , walking over . "did you need anything? you're visiting someone , right ?"

callie doesn't mind meeting new people , especially here . she should get to know others , but she can't really help but feel as if she belongs somewhere else . it nags at the back of her mind , but she ignores it . she grew up here , with a loving family . . . that's all there is to it . sighing , she sets her bag down on the ground and begins to pore over her notes from earlier . she then notices a young woman , eventually deciding to offer her a seat . "hey ," she calls , "you need somewhere to sit ?"

johnny almost seemed to be someplace else , mentally. the meal he ordered , seemingly abandoned. his soda untouched. he merely stared at the screen of his phone. it was only when he felt another presence that he looked up. “ oh , sorry , ” he apologized and looked around. he pulled his bag from the seat next to him. “ this seat if empty , if you need it. ”
