on a grey and rainy day it's a pleasure to look at this #portrait of #robertfrank in front of his studio on mercerstreet by #fcgundlach. 1985 in #soho (before neoliberalism poured greed and concret over manhattan). Robert Frank was a frequent guest at my favourite japanese restaurant on avenue a #takahatchi. And with fcgundlach and #sebastianlux I spent wonderful ten days in #lisbon. Good memories. Frank lost his daughter in an aircrash in Tikal and his son was schizophrenic. The rolling stones hurted him deeply not allowing him to show #cocksuckerblues. For me the hughe black triangel, the shadow in the forground reverberate these tragic moments in Franks life. And why is Frank as for a portrait so far away, nearly dwarfed by the buildings?
