A bowler-hatted man strolls down a foggy London street in 1951, newspaper tucked under his arm, as a red double-decker bus fades into the haze of postwar Britain.

Captured by Swiss-American photographer Robert Frank, the image shows his early street work in Europe before his groundbreaking book The Americans transformed documentary photography with its raw, unconventional vision.

Did you know? Frank (1924–2019) emigrated to the U.S. in 1947, and his 1958 book The Americans—initially criticized—later became one of the most influential photo books of the 20th century.

"Looking Outside" I am always looking outside, trying to say something that is true. But maybe nothing is really true. Except what's out there. And what's out there is constantly changing. #robertfrank 161/500 of #berlinstateofmind About 2013 I started unconsciously a graphic and photographic project. At first I saw it as a vital diary, but in reality it is a tribute to the life and work of all incredible, untiring and hungry for life people I met in #Berlin.
