Happy 100th day, this is just a short scenario for you (Took some pieces from your writing prompt #1 and #2) I hope it was alright lol
“Chief, that's enough.”
How many times have you said that to this stubborn, workaholic woman who kept writing and approving documents as if she's running out of time. Maybe in some way, she was running out of time. There were only twenty-fours in a day and too many tasks to be done for a single person to complete.
But that still doesn't excuse this behavior of hers.
“Chief.” You said more sternly, almost dragging the poor woman off her chair. Too light. Was she even eating right? Damn it, where was Nightingale when you needed her?
“I swear if you don't stop now, I'm not gonna tell how you'll fall asleep in your meeting and get reprimanded by the higher ups or Langley using it as blackmail to you.” Wait, you just already said it but that stirred some whatever life and light left on the Chief.
She finally looked at you. Deep eyebags that could almost rival a racoon. A pale face, chapped lips and a face that just screams pure exhaustion.
You click your tongue in frustration. Now hauling the chief on your shoulder like a sack of potatoes. She tried to resist, a soft mumble of “Put me down” or the usual “Don't make me use my shackles on you”
All were simple threats that you were used to by now. Just damn, was everyone that busy with their missions to check up on Chief or maybe they already did but this woman was just too stubborn. If you didn't know any better, you'd think Chief is married to her work.
And perhaps there was some truth to that. A truth that makes your insides put into a twist. Out of everyone that's in this place, why the Chief out of all people??? If only you could rip your heart out and ask it personally, if only you could've foreseen this, then maybe it'll help you with the heartache that you felt.
Chief wouldn't ever reciprocate your love. There goes the voices again.
“[Y/N],” Chief called out so softly, you might have almost missed it.
“Yes? Finally had your wits to yourself?”
“Where are you taking me?”
You rolled your eyes. “To your room, of course. You need to sleep.”
“My room is my office.”
“Tell that to Nightingale and let's see if you can answer that again to her.”
Chief shuts up. Your heart ached further.
With a sigh and not minding whatever rumours, gaze and other sinners fixated on both you—you deliver Chief back to her room.
Old, musty, barely used from the looks of it. No decorations at all. You would think this was just a regular room for a staff if not for the fact how spacious it was compared to everything else. You sent down Chief on her bed. A firm mattress, thin blankets and thin pillows???
“Are you sure this isn't just a cell being repurposed for you?” You shrugged off your coat and put it over the Chief's shivering body. Alright, calling the staff now then the new blankets would arrive in less than ten minutes but at that point Chief would be knocked out cold.
Disturbing her sleep would lead to her not sleeping again for the rest of the day. Decisions, decisions...
Chief turned over to her side, pulling your coat to herself and curled up underneath.
You look around for the remote to keep the AC to a bearable degree and grab whatever extra blankets and pillows that could give your idiotic and lovable Chief some decent sleep.
“Thank you...” She muttered, sighing softly as her eyes fluttered shut. “Would there be any danger tomorrow?”
You pressed your lips to a thin line. A question she always asked considering your future sight ability as a sinner. Of course, you did as you were told and tried to see the paths lay ahead.
“Other than the usual trouble in the cafeteria—nothing major.” You shrugged and lay down beside her.
Chief didn't move.
You moved closer... and wrapped an arm around her waist.
She tensed up.
“What are you doing?” Chief asked, turning over to face you. Her eyes briefly opened then fluttered shut.
Cute.
“Making sure you don't get up and start working. I saw the future, idiot. You're not leaving this bed until you get eight hours of sleep.”
“You know I can't...” Chief murmured, sighing—pressed her face on your chest.
Oh.
You froze.
“Well news flash...” Your throat felt a little dry all of the sudden. “I can tell them if you don't get this rest, then you'll faint from exhaustion in the next 14 hours.”
For a moment, you saw her lips quirked to a smile. It disappeared quickly just like it appeared.
“Now sleep, okay?” You whispered close to her ear, cradled her head closer to you—no, pulled her until she was resting on top of you.
Chief didn't seem to resist, if anything, she sagged with a sigh. Her arms lazily wrapped around yours, the coat haphazardly dropped over both of you.
What is wrong with you? Why continue to insert your life on hers? The future with Chief hand in hand was non-existent.
You remember how you keep trying to change that particular fate. Alas, fate seemed to have a funny way to say it could never work.
It will never happen.
“Sleep.” You murmured once more, and tucked a stray hair away from her face.
Her breath ghosted over your neck. So warm.
“What do you want in return tomorrow?” Her eyes fluttered shut, her face pressed closer until you felt ticklish with her lips.
You gulped.
“Just... please get some rest...”
“But your karma...” Chief protested, you shut her up by poking her cheek harshly.
“I'll be fine, I'll deal with it.” You wrapped your arms firmly around her as if you could protect her from anything.
Maybe you can with your ability.
“Please, sleep...”
Your pleading finally reached her thick skull. She nodded and sooner than you could count to twenty—Chief was already snoring.
No matter what happens, you'd always be there by her side. She may not reciprocate your feelings, heck, she may not notice it at all but as long she is safe...
As long she is happy.
Then you will be.
You'll protect her future, just like she protects yours.

Idea I had: Everytime you see a future, you have to pay it somehow, get some bad luck and all. Equivalent exchange (I just imagine Wuhuanzi)
But yeah, I tried to cook
Daily Random PTN: Day 101- answering ask peak
YOU ABSOLUTELY COOKED LIKE OMFG. And a reader who can see the future is actually so interesting, like a ton of events could be resolved in much more better ways than they were in game. Poor Reader tho, hopefully her onesided love will be reciprocated, but ig they’re just gonna have to keep on racking up those Chief romancing points until then! At least until even Chief can’t deny her feelings either…..
