“If you’re going to keep playing, then I’m going to keep DRINKING,” Yennefer told Jaskier as she took a seat near him. Thankfully, there was alcohol around to keep reaching for, but it wasn’t even that Yennefer thought that Jaskier was bad at what he did. On the contrary, she was actually thoroughly impressed by him and his talent, but if they didn’t banter with each other, then it felt like there was something off in the universe.

The arms around her had felt warm, familiar, safe. “Jaskier?” Hands gripped the front of the mans shirt as though it was the only thing holding her to earth and the blonde let out a breath she hadn’t known she’d been holding. “Jaskier,” The realization setting in, Ciri held him tighter if even possible an unexpected sob escaping her throat. This hadn’t been the first time she nearly died, and probably not the last but the aftermath never seemed to get easier. “Gods, are you alright? You could have gotten hurt! I could have hurt you.”

“I do have a reputation as far as my appearance is concerned.” For sorceresses being taken seriously was integrally tied to appearance. She could hear the amusement in his voice and his face almost always was an open book. She supposed he was correct about having a more functional wardrobe with the rate they were pulled into Geralt’s life. She supposed she could portal them somewhere else though in order to set herself to rights.

Yennefer had barely made it out of sight when she heard the yelling. It wasn’t hard to figure out who he was yelling at, seeing as Jaskier was the only one who had stuck around. It had made her stop, and after a moment of deliberation, she moved to sit on a rock off to the side of the path she knew the bard would come down. It wasn’t long before he came into sight, and she raised an eyebrow. “You know, you could at least try not to look like a kicked puppy,” she commented casually, watching him make his way.
