main. — there were three versions of humberto throughout his life. // the first one was the one he could remember the fondest. the young and eager humberto, born gleeful and hopeful. taking all of his father expectations into his hands and trying to turn them into reality. the first was most probably the best humberto to ever roam this earth, packed to the brim with dreams of greatness and happiness, attaining not only energy but will to turn them into reality. but he was never enough // and then there was the second, born later, much later. the hateful, rebellious one. the poisonous and self-destructive, that couldn’t be anything anybody asked him to and so decided to be nothing at all. it was like being out in the middle of thunderstorms and still refusing to go home, slamming the car door closer over and over again, screaming until your throat aches and you can’t breath. // and then, finally, the third one. the most recent. the place where the first and second clashed and went to die. the leftover overs of himself trying to make up for one entire-person. spiteful humberto, self-hating humberto. tired, done, longing for happiness and all too sure he can’t handle it. the third humberto is grudging resurrection. dead for a total of 2 minutes and then unwillingly brought back to life. thunderstorms again but this time you locked yourself inside the house, and even though you want to feel the raindrops against your skin, you are too afraid to leave.
