THE FIGHT HADN’T BEEN FAIR SINCE THE START ; no one knew where the pros were and just as they thought they might’ve had the upper hand , all for one appeared . tsuyu , of course , persisted , as did her peers , even in the face of despair . though with all of them so distracted , barely anyone had noticed how all for one caught her . even she was surprised ;  yelp leaving her mouth almost as fast as the air in her lungs did . clawed against his grip , tried to escape with her tongue , use the strength in her legs , anything her quirk could provide , but the more she struggled , the more she could feel the life leaving her . it was a bizarre feeling - it made tears pool up in her eyes , made her disoriented , somehow caused her to struggle more despite the fact that she could feel the strength leaving deep inside her . there was a loud ringing in her ears and she didn’t know if it was caused by panic or something else , but all the voices that she could hear clearly before were now muffled . and it felt like hours ; hours of muscles aching , hours of dread in the back of her throat as the feeling of everything she had , everything she worked for being taken away lingered in the air around her .

eventually , she felt her mind go blank , body succumbing to the ground . she couldn’t see through the tears , couldn’t hear anything either and it felt like everything was over , even if it wasn’t . she let out a whimper - all that she could do . couldn’t move , didn’t want to , either . eyes fluttered shut moments later and she finally realized what had happened to her , fully comprehending what she had just lost . and as her consciousness began fading , for the first time in her life she truly didn’t want to wake up .

            “       SHUT   THE   HELL   UP   ! ! !       ”       Neru   shouted  ,    his   head   whipping   up   to   see   that   masked   over   section   of   the   man’s   face   where   his   eyes   should   be  .       there   was   a   boulder   for   a   lump   in   his   throat  ,    muscles   in   his   arms   and   fingers   twitching   with   agony   and   sorrow  .

       “       Y - YOU   DON’T   KNOW   WHAT   THIS   IS   LIKE   ! !       YOU   WOULDN’T   U - UNDERSTAND    HOW     THIS    F - F - FEELS   ! !       YOU’VE     NEVER    FUCKING    FELT   ANYTHING  ! !     J - JUST ...    leave   me   alone ...     please ...    ”       he   couldn’t   explain   the   grief   that   tore   through   his   flesh  .      she   was   crucial   to   him  .     and   he   didn’t   know   if   he   even   had   a   reason   to   keep   breathing   without   her   around   as   a   reminder  .     the   hiccups   that   infected   his   speech   and   breathing   were   too   much   to   handle—— Neru   simply   pulled   his   legs   to   his   chest   and   buried   his   head   on   his   knees  .
