You're kidding me. Although it's understandable, there used to be an elementary school around here, right? The iron chains holding up the swing stung against Hayoung's fingers, and so did the rubber tire against the backside of her thighs as she sat down on one, but it'd take much more than that to force her out of here.
She'd been out strolling in the gardens (a favorite past-time activity) when this illusion-like paradise had appeared out of nowhere, a bit out of bounds but not far enough to have her reconsider leaving the premises if only for a bit. A kid's playground—complete with a trampoline and multiple swings. And it's empty. Completely empty, much to her extreme relief. Silence is what makes a haven, right? She kicked off the sand, beginning to collect speed. Her feet seemed to blend into the clouds as Hayoung swung higher, losing herself in the serene swooshing of the wind and clanking of chains. This was happiness... and just the type of relaxation she'd so needed after having transferred to here. Tunes birthed in her throat and she sang a few opening lines... quietly...
"—over the rainbow.. Blue birds fl--AH, HOLY"
In the blink of an eye, the left chain had corroded, snapped in the middle, and left her clinging to the only functional chain left as the tire beneath her swung once more and bumped into the railing with her still on it, looking much like a startled koala wound around its bamboo stick. She blinked a few times, heart rate painfully quick. ...No one saw, right?
