FamiCom Reverse Club: The Koufuku Police Station

time to get to know our buddies working on the case with us!

(they are, in fact, not our buddies)

Junko Kuze

unlike her canon self, junko is a laidback, carefree person with a scarily lenient work ethic for someone working on a murder case every other day. a bit of a jokester, she spends most of her time poking fun at the others on her downtime, dice especially out of all of them. (not to mention taro's arrival amplifying that...)

though despite how relaxed she typically is, there's something about this case that's making her seem a little tenser than usual...

Daisuke "Dice" Kamihara

much like his original self, dice serves as a total 180 to junko's personality. he's an anxious workaholic, caring WAY too much about everything (compared to dice not really caring about much on the surface). he's a terrible shot, but a generally good business partner otherwise and balances out junko's reckless decisions generally nicely. he also tends to call taro "boy detective" (it does feel weird working with someone 5 years younger than you), which has rubbed off a bit around the office (and especially on junko, much to taro's distain).

"Heyyy, Kami! Late to the scene again?" "P-Please excuse me, partner! The traffic was bad, and I forgot my briefcase, so I had to go back and..." "*sniff sniff* Ohh? Kami, have you been drinking again? How naughty of you! Boy, you're lucky you're assigned to me, 'cause if it was anyone else you wouldn't be able to pull this off! Hehe!" "Awh...come on, please give me a break..." "Harrumph. There they go again..."

Kimiharu Kamada (not pictured) is a little simpler of a swap; he's a grouchy old man, to put it bluntly. though he is a good detective, and has known utsugi for a long time...

next up should be information on emio & makoto, or the tragedy of the kuze siblings... or fukuyama?

FamiCom Reverse Club: The Utsugi Detective Agency

introducing our favorite group of anti-heros! who exactly are these people with their weird red eyeliner and era-innappropriate emo energies? let's find out!

Protagonist (Taro Toyama)

reverse club takes (most of) everyone's personality and flips it on its head, so our little not-so nameless protag gets that treatment as well! reverse!taro... a perfect ball of teenage angst is all i can describe him as to be honest.

while he can show a mature and caring side like his canon self from time to time and he REALLY wants (or at least wanted) to find his parents, taro is aloof, brooding, and slightly mean-spirited with his own set of weird morals. i mean i would be too if i had to be the essential shadow the hedgehog to taro ninten(tm), anyways he's our main little dude trying to figure out who killed eisuke in "Emio"

Ayumi Tachibana

it's your favorite shy little school girl next door!

just kidding; reverse!ayumi tachibana is/was the big bad delinquent girl of Ushimitsu High School. initially part of a gang with the (late) Yoko Kojima, ayumi is loud, crass, and generally "un-ladylike" (whatever that's supposed to mean...), breaking school rules and butting heads with taro often during investigations.

she still retains this personality even as she grows older, but it's mellowed out a bit and she's revealed a side that's extremely protective of those she loves. (though she shows love in an odd way to say the least) ayumi is still the assistant to taro during the eisuke sasaki case, catching up with an old "senpai"/gang member, who i'll cover in a future post (>vO)

Shunsuke Utsugi

it's the bossman!

reverse!utsugi is the owner of utsugi detective agency, and he's... a bit of a wild card.

with a face inexplicably framed in shadow, utsugi is a man of few emotions but many ways to crack a case (and maybe a neck, if someone's not careful). to the other people he investigates with? he's downright TERRIFYING... (and definitely not as fatherly as og utsugi is...)

...of course, unless you're taro and ayumi, who often poke fun at him on their downtime from cases. (one of their most popular debates is "does utsugi need to wear a bra for his big pecs?") he does have a side that wants to mentor and guide the two, seeing a younger self in taro especially, but most of the time utsugi finds the constantly-clashing duo to annoying.

and that's it! up next will either be the smiling man legend + info on the eisuke case (+ fukuyama?), koufuku police station, or emio and makoto's whole deal
