Valentines day has long passed. White day has also come and gone. both times Recchan had prepared homemade chocolates and sweets, only afterwards realizing she hadn't anyone to give them to. that wasn't entirely true either though. she did have someone in mind to show her appreciation and graditude! its just that her timid teenage heart was easily flustered at the thought of doing something so!! incredibly girly mushy gushy scary totally normal for a gal her age just absolutely mundane and nice!! also she was an emotional eater so the more she thought about it the more chocolate got nibbled on and then there was none. but this time? THIS TIME? theres no turning back.
Recchan presents Garo with a hand decorated box, the contents within are chocolate panda bears constructed of white & dark chocolate. The top of the box reads:
Happy Valentines Day!
White Day?
NATIONAL PANDA DAY
He’s lounging comfortably in the crook of a tree when she finds him, arms tucked behind his head ( and if he was honest ) nearly falling asleep. A much deserved rest after the amount of morning training he had pushed himself through. Yet her presence gets a rise out of the sleepy teen, long legs thrown over the edge of the branch before she can even call out his name. A brow lifts, mouth pressed into a line of discontent.
Not with Recchan of course, but with what might have brought her to seek him out. Was.. she being bullied again? The thought irritates him and Garo jumps down, landing but a foot or so away from her. He’d gladly beat to a pulp anyone who wronged her and they’d deserve it too. Just because - just because the world looked at her and couldn’t see beyond the surface was THEIR PROBLEM but he’d make it his too.
Yet before he can ask her what’s wrong, a box is offered out within her hands...?
He simply stares, the anger he had felt growing slipping into a state of confusion. It’s decorated, by her he assumes, and the scribbled out words are difficult to read. NATIONAL PANDA DAY stands out clearly though, furrowing both brows as he turns his eyes back from the box to the features of her face.
“National Panda Day?” He questions, uncertain of taking the gift ( was it a gift? ) from her hands. When she doesn’t lower it away from him, Garo reaches out to take it into his own grasp. When had been the last time he had been given anything? He couldn’t think of a time at all. How weird, the feeling that knowledge brought on.
“... You want me to open it?” Garo follows up with another question, gaze cast back to the box in his hands.
