When people talk about members of Hamas being anti-semitic, it's just a distraction. Anti-semitic doesn't mean the same thing for Palestinians that it does for most of the rest of the world. Palestinians have no power over Israel, no power over Jews. They don't have a history of oppressing Jewish people. They don't have institutionalized discrimination against Jewish people.
Palestine is being occupied by Israel. Palestinians are being murdered, their homes and businesses and hospitals are being destroyed. Food, water, and other resources are being withheld. Their movement is restricted. Israeli laws withhold rights from them. Palestinians experience institutionalized oppression at the hands of Israel, at the hands of the Jewish state.
No one should be surprised that members of Hamas are Holocaust deniers. Israel and its supporters have a history of outright lying or bending the truth to get sympathy for Israel. Why should people in Palestine believe anything Israel says? Yes, Hamas refused to add curriculum regarding the Holocaust in their schools. Israelis are colonizers, and Palestine has a right to resist teaching the history of their colonizers.
People can complain about Hamas being Holocaust deniers when Palestine isn't under the control of Israel, when it's not occupied, when Palestinian civilians aren't being murdered, when Palestinians are afforded their basic human rights. Right now, any complaints about that is derailment.
