Option 2: Marrying 2nd Generation children

all the above happens except MU doesn’t have Morgan

this is so confusing because the children know Morgan in-game timeline after they come back

the 2nd gen go back in time to prevent Grima’s resurrection, the story progresses as you play it in-game. MU marries one of the 2nd gen and has Morgan whenever after they recruit them (anytime after Chrom marries his spouse and has Lucina; in this instance he cannot have married MU without having some kind of divorce/adultery/maybe incestual with Lucina context which I don’t want to get into right now)

either way MU marries 2nd gen and has Morgan; the timeline progresses as in-game until MU is compelled to kill Chrom by Validar.

SUBOPTIONS: Who is MU at this point?:

MU is Grima-possessed!MU coming after the kids (because it’s a foolish lousy-ass excuse for a dragon god) who loses their memory. This means if Grima-possessed-hierophant!MU comes back, they’ll have to have come from ANOTHER apocalyptic timeline (and yeah going back to what Val said, why don’t the Grimas from all the timelines band up if they are supposedly omniscient regarding all timelines?? shrugs). In this case MU remembers the vision of themselves killing Chrom to be able to hold back their Thoron and plan around the event until the end.

MU is original MU who meets Chrom without the context of memory loss or time travel; in this case the children probably wouldn’t be able to prevent MU from killing Chrom because they wouldn’t know who killed him (other than the fact that it was someone close to him). Everything proceeds as per bad timeline, though the fates of the 2nd gen. (except for that of Morgan, who time travels to in-game MU’s timeline) are more uncertain this time. 

EVEN IF in the case that they did get MU to hold back, then this would probably have to be a doomed timeline for Morgan to have to time-travel. In this case, it’s uncertain as to where the 2nd gen would go or whether they’d all survive again.

IF it’s not a doomed timeline (like with what Hana said) and MU goes on to have Morgan after they come back from slaying Grima/putting Grima to sleep, then, taking from Hana’s example, it’s only likely that Morgan would time travel back if Naga decided he was key to MU deciding to reawaken after being absorbed by Grima dragon, I think. 

More speculation: The Future-Past DLC (no time travel) 

MU can’t be married to a 2nd gen character in-DLC timeline to produce a Morgan that would know the children and vice versa without having lost his memory beforehand. If MU was married to a 2nd gen character it would have to be in the timeline where the 2nd gen has traveled back in time only to fail again (which is mostly likely), and where Morgan has been sent to a different timeline in order to help fix it (and failed). 

If MU is married to a first gen., then everything proceeds as in DLC.

Morgan defects to Grima at some point when they’re old enough to decide for themselves whether to join or oppose their parent (see Morgan’s possible reasons for doing so end of pg 1-start of pg 2)

everything pans out as per canon

When MU talks to Morgan, Morgan disappear and either:

gets transported by MU (in a moment of clarity) to the past to help the other kids recoup

gets transported to some other place in FP (Future-Past) timeline, losing their memory in the process (based on the end of the last Drama CD, in which mMorgan (Marc) is recovered by the rest of the kids. Not sure if this is necessarily Future Past timeline, though it seems Morgan has been gone for a while [“Welcome back/home Morgan”])

time travels themselves because they have fell blood

gets killed or otherwise banished into obscurity by Grima 

runs away to live elsewhere in the saved world

I've edited my post about Morgan's origins from yesterday a little in light of what I learned yesterday in the drama CD (based on Val's post and a little of Hana's)

Where does Morgan come from?

Option 1: Marrying first generation characters (in-game apocalyptic timeline)

Emm dies by Validar’s hand, Chrom obtains the Fire Emblem and must protect it at all costs. Chrom becomes exalt

does this mean Chrom declares war on Plegia or waits to figure out where assassins come from? because he’s rather thick I mean come on he didn’t even figure out MU was from Plegia

If it takes him time to figure it out then war with Plegia prolonged; if Validar outright says he’s from Plegia to incite war with Chrom, then war = hastened

Not sure if Validar and Gangrel were working together or if Validar was on his own, but either way Gangrel would probably claim rights to Emm’s execution and declare war at this time. 

The war with Plegia long and bloody (maybe even more so because Emm’s death is not of her own choice and unless somebody propagandizes her kindness+fairness then there probably wouldn’t be as much dissent within Plegian ranks) but eventually won.

2 years pass; Lucina has been born, Morgan also presumably born a little after her. Chrom learns Valm is planning to invade, and meets with Validar (how would they react considering they know for sure Validar=assassin?? idk I’m guessing either they kill him after he kills Emm or they didn’t see him, or MU convinces Chrom that he needs Plegia’s help nonetheless…which really sucks jeeze)

MU discovers that they are Grima’s vessel+Validar’s child either later that night or right then and there during the negotiations

not too important but Chrom would’ve probably been wounded on his way back from Valm (when that Plegian soldier appears on the bridge and attacks him) because future!Lucina isn’t there to help

they defeat Walhart, find the gems, go to Validar for the final gem and get ambushed, MU is forced to take Fire Emblem and give it to Validar who takes it to the Dragon Table

MU and Chrom go there and MU kills Chrom. Either in grief/despair or desire to assume power (since they’ve got nothing left for them now that they’ve murdered Chrom = would be branded as a traitor/dangerous)

Grima in power, apocalypse happens

presumably the Shepherds and other folk form a resistance in Ylisse long enough for the children to grow up and fight for themselves

What’s the relationship: What happened to Morgan during this time?? this is where I get confused because during which period would he have gotten to know and love his MU parent well enough to know the difference between Grima!MU and MU (must be enough to either remember MU after time travel or defect to Grima like in Future-Past DLC) if MU goes grimadark so quickly (even with side chapters counted)?  

Either a) Morgan identifies/loves what they learn about MU secondhand from either a first gen parent or a Shepherd to want to attach themselves to MU (if Morgan’s parent is Chrom, then maybe to attach himself to his only parent; if not Chrom, then maybe because the first-gen parent has either died or is distant), or b) Grima!MU somehow visits Morgan as child is growing up.

In any case Morgan leaves with the children and loses their memory in the process
