I'm listening to the Silmarillion, read by Martin Shaw.
I've read it before, but I've got some thoughts anyway, which I would like to share.
Fëanor - what a dick.
"Silmarils! Gone! I'm not really being a dick since I'm just trying to get my stuff back! Me and my followers can go slaughter the Teleri and I can choose to leave Fingolfin in the ice and misery and the Helcaraxë! Morgoth stole my stuff! I CAN DO WHAT I WANT! The Teleri dock-blocked me! After I was so nice to them! MORGOTH TOOK MY SILMARILS AND I AM FULLY JUSTIFIED IN EVERYTHING I DO TO GET THEM BACK!"
There's a moral here somewhere. I wonder what it could be?
