Ronnie Fieg / KITH × New Balance 2011
Meet Ronnie Fieg
From a Bar Mitzvah hustle in Queens
To Building a global $300 million streetwear and lifestyle empire with Kith
Ronnie Fieg is the modern American Dream in sneakers and culture.
Born Aaron “Ronnie” Fieg in 1982 to a Jewish family (with Persian-Israeli roots), he grew up in Queens, New York.
His family celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at 13, and instead of just taking cash gifts, young Ronnie turned one from his cousin (David Zaken, owner of the iconic David Z footwear chain) into an opportunity: he asked for a job instead.
Starting as a stock boy and salesman at David Z that same year (around 1995), he worked his way up to manager and head buyer, soaking in NYC’s street culture, hip-hop influences, and sneaker scene on legendary 8th Street.
Fueled by passion for footwear, music, and style, he dreamed bigger than the backroom.
In 2011, he launched Kith NYC—first as a boutique in Manhattan (and soon Brooklyn), blending multi-brand streetwear (Adidas, New Balance, Timberland) with his own vision.
He quickly expanded into his own Kith-branded apparel, iconic collaborations (Nike, Asics, Ralph Lauren, Coca-Cola, even Rugrats), limited drops that sell out instantly, and a full lifestyle empire: clothing, footwear, accessories, and experiential retail.
Kith grew rapidly with stores across the US (NYC, LA, Miami), plus global spots in London, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, and more.
Recent highlights include major collabs (like with Giorgio Armani), Ronnie as the first-ever Creative Director for the New York Knicks, and consistent cultural relevance in streetwear-meets-luxury.
Today, Kith generates hundreds of millions in annual revenue (estimates around $300-350M+ business-wide, with strong e-commerce in the $100M+ range), driven by hype drops, innovative design, and NYC energy.
From a 13-year-old stock boy in Queens who chose work over Bar Mitzvah cash, to a visionary CEO and creative force redefining streetwear globally—Ronnie Fieg’s journey embodies hustle, cultural insight, and that enduring entrepreneurial spirit

One of my favorite designers right now is Ronnie Fieg for the brand Kith. I was excited to find that he was picked to design the collection again this year. Today I'm highlighting some of my favorites from the timeless collection.
