they do but expect to pay around $80 for one? And generally there’s no English subtitles, so you’ll either need familiarity with Japanese, familiarity with the English show, or access to fan-made subtitles.

what’s it about?

it’s a novel from the v late 1800s that basically established modern historical fiction as a genre - it was a blockbuster, really, about the romance between Henry VIII’s younger sister Mary and this guy Charles Brandon. You might know it as the basis for the 1953 live-action Disney movie The Sword and the Rose? But like.

first off the author lied about being Scottish and went on this massive prologue tangent about how awesome being Scottish was (YOU WERE BORN IN INDIANAPOLIS YOU TWIT) and then he proceeded to write the most bisexual protagonists ever (they meet and move in together while sharing secrets “like schoolgirls” and spending all their time together, and then they fell in love with different girls and never really fell out of love with each other judging by how Mr. Caskoden still thinks Brandon was The Best Fucking Guy Ever)

and don’t get me started on Mary Tudor (not that one)
