"this game ain't that scary"
16 years and Alma still scares the shit out of me
WIP ANNOUNCEMENT
Today marks the 10 year anniversary of F.E.A.R. 2, the second in a series of horror games I played to death in my formative years. I recently replayed this particular entry in the series and while I still adore the games and their stories, I found some of the outdated ideas of what constitutes "scary" to be frustrating, namely the theme of sexuality and assault that the game revolves around.
In honour of that, I thought there was no better time than today to announce a new project I'm working on, nicknamed Monolith in honour of the story that inspired it. This will be darker than my usual writing, focusing still on found family but also adding a twist to the "vengeful female spirit" trope in horror. At the moment it's still in planning stages, but I'll be updating everyone as it develops!
