Darn, this was supposed to be a simple job! A civilian transport ship had been stranded and overrun by space pirates, and Betty’s mission objective direct from Admiral DeGill had been to take them out and get the place moving again.
She hadn’t expected to see Star Command cadets around! The two factions didn’t have a rivalry, per se, but they were trained and equipped very differently and really didn’t like getting under each other’s feet. If the girl was hostile or elitist, this unexpected surprise was almost guaranteed to make things a hundred times as complicated.
