                   𝐁𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐒𝐎  𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐒𝐘  𝐇𝐀𝐒  𝐀𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐘𝐒  𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍  𝐅𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆  ,   but  this  is  a  NEW  low  .   he’s  stuck  ,   arm  reaching  into  a  storm  drain  in  search  of  a  lost  object  .   he  rests  his  cheek  on  the  pavement  ,  mentally  preparing  himself  for  a  lifetime  as  part  of  the  ground  .   and  ...  he  SWEARS  he  heard  a  chuckle  from  deep  inside  the  sewers  ...  that’s  ridiculous  .   then  he  figures  ,   while  he’s  got  his  arm  down  there  ,   he  may  as  well  grab  what  he’s  searching  for  .   the  footsteps  behind  him  hardly  catch  his  attention  until  they’re  PRACTICALLY  on  top  of  him  .   “  ah  .   you  can  just  ...  go  around  me  .   i’ll  be  here  for  a  while  .  ”

                   𝐀  𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃  '  𝐓𝐇𝐖𝐀𝐂𝐊  '  𝐅𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐃  𝐁𝐘  𝐀  𝐒𝐎𝐅𝐓  𝐘𝐄𝐋𝐏  ;   betty  cooper  must  be  trying  her  hand  at  softball  again  .   it  used  to  be  her  ENTIRE  life  ,   but  after  her  accident  ,   she  was  forced  to  quit  .   it  wasn’t  as  simple  to  restart  as  she’d  hoped  ,   and  that’s  how  she’s  found  herself  sitting  in  the  grass with  her  hands  cupping  her  nose  .   no  REAL  injuries  ;   just  a  bruised  ego  .   it  isn’t  until  she  looks  up  again  ,   that  she  realized  someone  had  seen  .   “  —  i  meant  to  do  that  .  ”
