The Hat Man - What are shadow people?
The Hat Man – What are shadow people?
I thought the shadow figure I saw looming in my bedroom doorway as a child was something I imagined… but if I imagined him, why have so many other people seen the same figure?
Personal Experience
Growing up, my family spent a few years living in Connecticut Navy Housing. It was a small split-level home with the kitchen, dining room, and living room on the main floor then up three steps…

Jeanette Andromeda here- elbowing Immortal Alexander aside from the keyboard for a moment. I wanted to tell you about this delightfully creepy thing we saw last week.
A few questions for you 1st though…
Do you delight in hearing horror stories that walk the line between terrifying and hilarious?
Do you love experiencing a story that transports you to the dark corners of another world?
Do puppets up the creep factor for you?
If you answered yes to one or all of these questions, go buy tickets to one of this weekend’s performances of Dr Foster’s Twisted Tales.
What is it?
Dr. Foster’s Twisted Tales is a macabre little theater production happening tonight (March 31st, 2017), tomorrow ( April 1st) and Sunday (April 2nd) at the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry in Storrs CT. And it’s fabulous.
Imagine a blend of Coraline, Creepy Pasta and live theater. Oh yeah, it’s creepy, it’s fun, and it’s visually delicious.

The performance itself opens with Dr. Foster acting as a blend of a side show barker and a snake oil salesman to invite the audience into the show. Mixed with a little comedic relief from through the two mime/classic clowns on his team you instantly feel like you’ve walked into something a little left of bizarre. I loved the interaction between the trio and the audience during the performance as well. With cue cards like “applause” and “meh.” It was hard to not get swept up in the playfulness of the performance.
Where this show really shines though, is in the horrorific and hilarious stories the puppets perform. There are three short stories told through various types of puppetry that explore families and friendships being torn apart… Sometimes literally. hehehe.
What it all boils down to is, If you’re within an 5 hour drive of Storrs CT, it is worth the trip to go see this show. If you are particularly fond of puppetry mixed with horror, it might be worth a longer trip.

Last week I asked: You are entranced by the glowing TV screen all night. There is no sleep! What happens…
