'Works continue on the Imperial Buildings; here the character brick of the internal courtyard dramatically complemented by the refined blackened steel stair.

Built toward the end of the 19th century & originally used to house the cities first picture theaters, the Imperial & Everybody’s buildings are a major part of Auckland’s downtown & historical fabric. Housing a number of eclectic spaces, ranging from disused theatres to basement taverns, we aim is link these currently individual nodes through lane occupation, internal courtyard space, cloister opportunities & retain an honesty to existing materials creating an active collection of retail, hospitality & creative tenants.

LESS IS BETTER, a guide to minimal design

A 3,6 high volume in Manhattan’s TriBeCa is converted into a residence with the insertion of glazed volumes and associated enclosed service rooms .The intention is to leave the existing shell of the loft unencumbered by internal partitions, maximizing the sense of openness while providing the hierarchy and division of spaces required for living.Operable fabric screens and sliding partitions allow further modification of the open space.
