zac was very glad that maple brook was such a small town and that everyone knew him because if he were anywhere else in the world, carrying a screaming toddler over his shoulder through the park would look suspicious. hell, maybe it looked suspicious here. he was just too done to care. they were already late to meet up with phoenix when kit started her temper tantrum and he just didn't want to deal with it today. he didn't set her down until he had reached phoenix, and then did so wordlessly, turning her to face his friend. "here, kit, look. it's your favourite person." he sighed, watching as the little one immediately perked up. she rubbed at her face, doing a terrible job of wiping her tears away, before throwing herself at phoenix for a hug.
zac just watched silently, feeling his hair turning grey. "i'm starting to think she loves you more than me, man." he admitted, sitting on the bench next to his friend.
