“Xaaaayah, I think it’s only fair that I get to ask you the same question, y’know? Why do you love me?” ( @feathersfound )
@feathersfound ♡
𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐚 𝐡𝐮𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐧'𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 upon which xayah ponders for few moments before she's ready to give the final answer. the charmer's inquiry is a lot to unpack — for should it be another ask me again tomorrow question?
rakan asks for marriage daily for years now, wishing to put an ionian equivalent of a ring on her finger; xayah would accept his proposal all too eagerly if not for that hint of anxiety lingering in the back of her head, buried deep underneath plans of fights for restoring the land's magic. she wishes she wasn't reminded of it now — of the one thing she fears so badly — that if she agrees it's gonna be over. nothing to fight for anymore. no answer for rakan to await with anticipation.
she knows it's not true — their souls are bound and they can only fly together, rakan's wing being her own and xayah's wing belonging to him and him only. for years the charmer has proven his love and loyalty and yet the rebel hesitates.
one look at her favorite shade of gold and the answer is found without a second thought.
❝ because you're both beautiful and sexy. ❞
I am not joking when I say- feathers guide my way. At a gym, I could have felt a betrayal of self- you know? Because of my beliefs regarding energy. No gymtimidation signs read and I heard that! I viewed a wet feather upon the locker room floor. I was happy to be a guest in such an environment. Thanks to Martha.
