   kieran  doesn’t  always  divulge  what  she  sees  when  she  touches  someone .  sometimes ,  she  simply  doesn’t  want  it  to  influence  decisions  of  today  and  other  times ,  it  just  doesn’t  seem  to  matter  much  whether  they  know  or  not .  she  doesn’t  give  josh  many  details .  when  curiosity  finally  gets  the  best  of  her  husband ,  she  tells  him  half  truths .  kieran  tells  him  that  they  have  met  many  times  before  and  will  probably  meet  many  times  again .  she  tells  him  that  they  were  not  all  happy  endings  but  they  loved  each  other  regardless  of  the  bitter  endings .

she  can’t  see  her  own  past .  she  can  only  see  it  through  josh’s  eyes  and  they  always  seem  to  meet  the  same  way .  a  chance  meeting ,  eyes  locked  from  across  a  crowded  room ,  and  one  always  approaches  the  other . a  spark .  a  fire  lit .  the  rest  is  always  history  after  that  .

kieran  doesn’t  tell  josh  in  all  the  ways  they  die .  she  doesn’t  tell  him  that  this  isn’t  the  first  war  they’ve  seen .  she  doesn’t  tell  him  about  the  steel  blade  of  betrayal  --  a  knife  in  the  back .  she  doesn’t  tell  him  of  fire  ablaze --  the  smell  of  burning  skin .  she  doesn’t  tell  them  of  the  times  they’ve  reach  for  each  other  in  death .  kieran  doesn’t  tell  him  of  the  times  of  sacrifice .  of  her  sacrificing  herself  for  him  --  not  the  cause  but  for  him  .

when  josh  tells  her ,  in  the  privacy  of  their  bedroom ,  that  he  doesn’t  expect  anyone  to  die  for  him  --  she  wants  to  tell  him  she  has  ,  without  hesitation ,  and  most  likely  without  regret .  instead ,  she  tells  him  if  it  came  down  to  it ,  she  would  choose  him  over  anyone  else .  whether  that  means  choosing  death  or  choosing  to  betray  her  people  for  the  man  that  she  loves .  

kieran  tells  him  that  she  made  the  right  choice  in  choosing  him  .

and  she’d  choose  him  again .
