lindsey is a little over a year younger than susie, but due to her gifted status being recognized when she was only entering kindergarten, she was recommended by her first grade teacher to be put on a fast track straight into the third grade. so she skipped second grade and ended up in the same year of school as susie, although they didn't cross paths much more during the school day since lindsey was often times scheduled to be pulled from her regular classroom to study separately with other gifted kids. lindsey continues to excel with perfect grades in every subject (which got an underwhelming reaction at home, as did pretty much everything lindsey did, but that's for another meta) and once they get to their freshman year of high school, lindsey starts taking some senior and advanced placement classes.
