To the woman who not only persued a career in medicine when it wasn’t as common for a woman to do so, but who then didn’t content with it and pushed even further.

To the woman who marched even closer to the frontier that was male dominion, the FBI — to use her science and expertise to solve crimes and convict killers.

To the woman who got assigned to a job she found fairly strange, and where she soon realised she wasn’t only there to investigate, but to disprove and ridicule, but still stuck with it without complaining.

To the woman who met a man she fell in love with upon the first handshake, but still managed to uphold a professional relationship. Who stuck with the man she loved, despite their contrasting views, but wasn’t afraid to keep true to herself and her own believes.

To the woman who sacrificed her entire life for a cause that wasn’t hers but became hers when she realised the other option was a life without love and thus not an option either.

To the woman who inspired countless other women and young girls to push themselves beyond what they were told they could achieve. Who taught us how to fight until the end but most importantly, who taught us how to love, so purely and unconditionally.

Happy Birthday Dana Scully, a fictional character, but nonetheless a timeless and iconic figure ever so relevant and important.

nearly forgot to post more pics of Howl in the snow! my worked opened/closed early for a couple of days, which gave us plenty of time to go out and enjoy it.
