Love Is the Drug: Musical Number
If you've seen this gif of Vera Gorski (Madame Gorski) slapping Blue Jones and wondered "Where is this from (and how do I get more)?" it's from a musical number where Blue and Vera perform a version of "Love Is the Drug," a song originally released by rock band Roxy Music in 1975.
The scene wasn't included in the Sucker Punch theatrical release, but the song is on the movie soundtrack. Yes, that's really Oscar Isaac and Carla Gugino singing!
Whether you've seen Sucker Punch or not, this deleted scene is so good! With as much work as they put into it, all the costume changes and dance numbers executed, it had to be disappointing to see it cut. Everything I read said it just didn't fit with the rest of the movie. (You know, if you were watching it for more than Blue Jones).
Really interesting to see both Gorski and Blue more as entertainers in this scene. And the on-stage moments between the two are amazing, as well!
Anyone got that gif of Gorski catching the microphone with her shoe at 4:10? I have no idea how long that took to rehearse, but damn!🥵

Background Character Appreciation - Reception Nurse
Christine Willes is credited on IMDB as "Reception Nurse/ Designer", but Blue does refer to her by the name "Margaret" later. She's the one who gives Babydoll clothes and takes her suitcase when she first gets to Lennox House, escorted by two male orderlies and Terrible Stepfather. Then she gives a really long, suspicious stare as they walk Babydoll away.
"WTF Oh my, that child doesn't even have shoes on."
It does make me wonder if Margaret's stare is merely curious or actively judging the men here. She definitely fits with the recurring theme of women who seem sympathetic to the patients but largely powerless against Blue and his cronies.
"Oh fuck darn, Blue is getting mad, how can I de-escalate." *tries to take Blue's jacket for him*
When the whole class gets yelled at for something one small group did. Standing uncomfortably while your boss fires murders people.

Blue Jones Character Scale
We've got all these different versions of Blue Jones in fanfiction, and I'm trying to make some kind of visual scale (like a spiciness scale but for his morality). I'm looking at villain scales, but most of them seem broken up by alignment. I think for x reader fanfiction, it comes down to how he treats Reader (or love interest) vs. how he treats others. Ex. He could be Sub with Reader and authoritative with others. Based on what I've seen in fanfiction tags, this is what I have so far:
