Season 3

Self care:

Working out -I started working out again! I’m terribly out of shape and I struggle but I’m enjoying it very much

Eating healthy -I was eating quite badly in the past few months and now I started really focusing on eating better and avoiding overeating

Journaling -I like making collages of movies I’ve seen

Blogs and channels:

jacksepticeye -I just started watching him play Little Nightmares 2

Linda Sun -Her content is just so positive and it makes me really think about how I see food and how important it is to practice intuitive eating

Crushes of the Month:

Ewan McGregor -Yes!! Finally someone new. I watched Birds of Prey and I was reminded of how much I liked Ewan’s show Long Way Round when I was little and then it went downhill. Now I am obsessed and I’m watching a lot of his films

Gillian Anderson -I can’t present too many new names out here, can I

Series:

Long Way Round -I’m just two episodes in but I’m already having a great time

Walking With Dinosaurs -Another trip to my childhood. I watched this documentary series so many times as a kid and now I returned because I need fun preparation for my exams

Books:

Metro 2033 -I really enjoyed Glukhovsky’s Futu.re and Metro 2033 didn’t disappoint. I really enjoyed the writing and the ending was jaw-dropping

The Magic of Tidying Up -I really enjoyed reading this and I’m sure I’ll apply a lot of the tips

Movies:

Bandersnatch -I have been told to watch this so many times. I kept pushing it off because I’ve never been a fan of black mirror, however this choose your own adventure story bles my mind in the most disturbing ways

Spiderman: Far from Home -I really love the new Spiderman films and I love Tom Holland even more. I enjoyed seeing Prague in the film (even though they could have chosen a real festival...)

Birds of Prey -I really loved this one. I had very low expectations because I didn’t quite like Suicide Squad but this was super fun!

Whisper of the Heart -Nothing heals the soul like a ghibli movie does

Moulin Rouge! -Here’s where my Ewan obsession comes in. Dude can sing!

The regular commuters came on in for their morning dose of triple espresso, half fat, no whip, grande machu picchu’s with a side order of scones that magically made people forget that they were worse off for you than the burgers they sold down the street, mascaraing as breakfast sandwiches. Whomever thought that one up was a marketing genius, Cole thought, as he wrapped up another scone and sent the sleepy, not quite there office worker on her way with a smile and an extra butter, just how she liked.

It was the simple things that made a person’s day, and Cole was all about the small things. He saw a lot of different people for a very short amount of time in his barista job (which was a super fancy way to say he provided copious amounts of a legalized chemical to the public for an exorbitant price), and as of right now, he had no thoughts of leaving. Besides the fact that the job was helping him survive through his classes, gave him a place to work on homework during the slow hours and allowed him all the disgustingly caffeinated beverages he could ever dream of…he enjoyed his job.

Was that strange? Some thought so. But he didn’t mind what others thought of him so much as he wanted to know what others thought of themselves. Which was why, even though it cut into much needed sleep on early Monday mornings and it forced him through cold and snow on a bike that everyone thought he was crazy for riding in the winter–here he was, every single week, a smile on his lips and a special little treat for each and every customer be they first time patrons or long returning friends.

“Hey Staci,” Cole called out to the regular, placing her steaming, sugary concoction on the counter, which smelled of anise and a lot of cinnamon. She really liked the cinnamon, Cole knew. “How did the beaver get online?”

Staci stopped, stared…her brow furrowing under the violently orange toque, her gaze far away for a moment before trailing to meet Cole’s always-laughing eyes. “I’m not sure,” she said, her frown visible from eyes down only, her scarf wrapped so securely around her face that he wasn’t sure how she was going to pry it off to drink her coffee. “How?”

Cole grinned. “She logged in.” To cover her groan at his awfully cleaver joke, he spoke over the sound that Cole knew must be amusement. “Extra butter’s in the bag. Be careful out there–it’s awfully chilly out there. Hey, what do you call a cold ghost? A cas-burr.”

“I’m leaving,” Staci stated, and promptly turned around–but not before Cole caught a smile forming, seeing it in the crinkle at the edge of her eyes.

“See you tomorrow, Staci!”

Another satisfied customer… ah, but here was another drink, this one with a shot of raspberry in what..? Goodness, he would have to try that one some time.

“Peter?” He asks, looking to the next customer. “Good morning, Peter! First time here? Well, let me ask you a quick question–why do people work as bakers?”

March is here already and to be honest I forgot I was doing these for a hot second:

Self care:

Walking - A simple walk home does wonders sometimes

Microfiber cloth -I started using one to remove make up and I love it! It works well and there’s a lot less waste

Digital art -I have barely any time to draw but I am having a great time

Unus Annus -Legend has it, Mark is still inflating that beach ball to this day

Series:

Doctor Who -I am saving the few last episodes so I am very much behind... but I love it just as much as everybody else

The Mentalist -Remember how I said I am rewatching it again and yet I have never really gotten past season 3 or so? Mum came and wanted to watch so I am back at season 1

Sex Education -I was quite sceptical when my friend talked about it being great but she was right. It’s amazing

Books:

Bílá nemoc Karel Čapek -I haven’t read many plays before (literallly one...) but I really like his
