Stormy Faye The Christian Runaway Recently, in a conversation with a friend, I had a moment of looking downward at my stumbling feet. So many plans, so many thoughts and ideas running through my head. Plans and goals. Plans and goals. Hurdles that hurt when I slip and fall headlong into them. I’m talking about an embarrassing state of affairs when it seems like all the other runners are off and running, swift and sure. Whereas, here I am musing that my feet seem to be stuck at the starting blocks. Life obstacles and detours. Again (sigh) Before I could drift further outside my happy, productive lane, she dropped this word of encouragement into my spirit: “What looks like the starting block to you, might look like a whole lap ahead to someone else.” – L'Oréal Tillman I now know that my many spiritual detours have definitely been character building on this journey called Christian living. I get sidetracked sometimes by myself, wondering if the daily sacrifice is worth the constant discipline. Can I get a witness, saints? Or am I hearing crickets? How blessed to have a sister in Christ speak life into your spirit when you start to look outside of your own running lane. The runners to the left and to the right can’t start or finish their race and mine too. Focus on The Father God and the destined path that He has prepared for me. As I reflected on this nugget of sage advice, I sought out what the Lord has to say about what was stirring in my spirit. I’m sharing with you, for those on this journey with me, to live for Christ.
