Done with January, Starting February - 2011
Books I finished in January:
The Hunger Games
I've read this book about 7 times now and its still one of my top picks!
Catching Fire.
It's the second book to The Hunger Games series and its another book I’ve read about 6 times. I enjoy it but it doesn't beat the first.
The Reader
I love this book, its just so captivating. I've read it about 4 times. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes semi-philosophical reads or anything that kind of pushes the boundaries.
The Scattered Life.
This is the first book I bought on my Kindle. This one is kind of slow but it gets better towards the middle. I’m not sure if I don’t like it as much because its and e-reader book, but it took me awhile to finish it, I probably wouldn't have finished it this month if I didn't rush to finish it. I'll probably have to read it again. It could be because I do a lot of my reading in the bath and in bed and I rarely remember to charge the Kindle (well and can’t take it in the bath.) lol.
The Last Lecture
Last minute I added this book 'cause it was a short book that I just happened to pick off my shelf one day to look at and ended up reading it. I never read it before until now. Its kind of like a different version of a Chicken Soup book, with short stories that don't necessarily have to be read together to get the moral, cause each chapter has its own, but should be read in order just because of small details. I'll probably re-read this one again next month, just because I read it pretty quickly and didn't take in the story fully. I'd recommend it for people who like Chicken Soup books or are dealing with someone having cancer.
The Secret is a book (and movie) I've heard about for years and even owned but never got around to reading it. I'm in the middle of it right now.
I was planning on reading Mockingjay the third book in the Hunger Games series in January just to finish the series but I still haven't bought it and the boy I was suppose to borrow it from forgot, so I'm just going to push it to my February list. I have already read it once, it's kind of junk compared to the first two and I didn’t even buy it cause how lame and predictable it was. Maybe I’ll buy it just to have the whole set.
I also bought Have A Little Faith on my Kindle. I have yet to start that or read it before but the excerpt I read was good hence why I bought it. This one I'm very excited to start.
Even though I've read it before, Dear John, because I didn't get to post up any quotes.
There will probably be more, I just haven't gotten around to picking them out yet, buying any new books, or borrowing any. So we'll see as the month progresses. Any recommendations? I'm open! (:
