OOC warning: small rant on Science and rude Youtube commenters under the cut

Just came back from a Youtube comment section and I feel as if I've walked knee-deep in a bog

Picture this: an amazing video about a new scientific development, I go to the comments section to see what people think about it, to see if any praises are being made and fUCK I had to go back to watch the video because apparently one man thanked God for this development at a brief point in the video and now this mere 2 seconds of an amazing video were enough to fill up the comment section with nothing but edgy atheists being like "HAHA WOW THAT MAN SUCKS RELIGIOUS PEOPLE DESERVE NO RESPECT THEY ARE SO STUPID LUCKILY I BELIEVE IN SCINECE AND NOT SOME IMAGNIARY FREND" Dude His son was saved from a condition that was incurable before!!  STOP DISRESPECTING PEOPLE'S BELIEF ESPECIALLY IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE If these people had any respect for science they wouldn't use it to justify how shitty they are to other people. Science is not your petty tool or your excuse to act as if you were sitting on a moral pedestal. Admitting that science is a thing that does things (wow big discovery) does not automatically make you intelligent if you then proceed to insult people on the internet now does it? Your brain has just as much power as that of ANY OTHER PERSON and you are using it not to be amazed at what humanity has come to but to write rude comments on youtube STOP using science to justify that! If you had any respect for it, you WOULD Science does not disprove religion. And science, does not enable you to be a dick.

I hate evangelical atheists so fucking much. People who treat atheism like a religion that they need to convert people to.

FUCK YOU. There are a billion and one reasons that people follow religion instead of lacking one. Your stupidity is evident in your lack of knowledge about this point.

I am an atheist, myself, but I would NEVER dream of telling someone to "convert" to my lack of religion. That is not my goddamn place, and if someone is happy being religious, then they should stay that way.
