Peter and Noah inviting Stiles and derek over for Thanksgiving dinner with both stilinskis being apprehensive since theyve both put on 200+ pounds since last seeing each other while both Hales are eager to show off how much theyve fattened up their partner and also show off how much their partner can put away in one sitting. Showing up their growth progress at Thanksgiving might become a new tradition.
Stiles pushing 350, his father closer to 400. It's enough to be very obviously noticeable. And both Stiles and Noah stare at each other and then are bitching back and forth. Stiles wants to know what happened to his diet? He can't eat like this! Which gets him "you're one to talk, I'll diet if you can see your feet, son." Stiles complains to Derek about "I haven't been home in two years and this is what happens?" Noah is telling Peter they should cancel dinner- Stiles doesn't need to be eating ANYTHING for Thanksgiving, look at the size of him! Both Hales are amused and soothing their respective boyfriends. Telling them to relax. It's a holiday. They're both adults- Stiles can't control his father's diet, and Noah can't control his sons. Eventually they have to agree just...not to talk about it. Stiles and Noah always had a decent relationship, so they talk about anything other than their weight. Or that their plates are being refilled rather eagerly by their boyfriends. They talk about how happy they are- that Noah has found someone after his wife. Or that Stiles has found someone who finally treats him right. That both Hales are such good cooks helps too. But they try not to discuss or talk about the obvious part of it. That Peter and Derek have a clear type...and that Stiles and Noah know the 200lbs they each gained wasn't an accident. Or the end of it. Peter and Derek, maybe for the first time in their life, actually start getting along. The eating competition? Not something they TELL their partners they are in. But the plates keep being refilled. The gentle kiss to the forehead and "finish this for me, please? I'm going to start the dishes." or "have some more? Or did you not like it?" Peter and Derek have their own tally going in the kitchen, marking off who is eating more. Hard to track...but for dessert? Peter is confident he can get Noah through a full Costco sized pumpkin pie - and then some. Derek has to keep pushing Stiles to keep up. Even when both of them look exhausted from how much food they've eaten. Half-lidded eyes, just wanting to doze off into their food comas, pants buttons undone, shirts rising up over rounded guts. But Peter and Derek aren't giving up that easily. Even if the night needs to end with them pushing forkfuls of pie into the Stilinski's mouth. The next Thanksgiving it's even more clear- that the Stilinski's are just the prized hogs of the Hale family. Fattened, displayed, and grown to whatever sizes they decide.
