We don't remember days, we remember moments
We can write so many words and think about all the Aha moments that we had last night. But there is one thing that blew our minds; we realized that what we stand for matters to people.
When we went to BlackRock that afternoon, somehow we understood that day was going to be different. We stood on the roof top, eight floors up (yes, it was warm), at the San Francisco HQ for BlackRock. While rehearsing we received constant support and positive feedback from Shannon, Kevin(Fast Forward), and Amy Hunter (Director at BlackRock). It felt so good to know that these ten weeks created such a meaningful bond.
BlackRock made us feel that this isn’t a one-time thing, that people at BlackRock care. For them, Feeding Forward means more than hearing a pitch.
When our CEO, Komal Ahmed, delivered her presentation, we felt welcomed and knew that the people in the room believed in our movement.
When the event ended, we were asked if we could recover the food from the Fast Forward event. We were so honored and were thrilled that the day ended with all of us bonding together to give back, by ‘Feeding Forward’.
Staff at St. Vincent De Paul of San Francisco were so happy to see our Food Heroes bring nutritious and healthy food last night. A night that ends by giving back to 160 people, who had food on their plate, was worth everything.
On Sunday, the so-called supermoon was huge and magnificently red. Likewise on Monday, our hearts felt as if they were fuller and larger than ever. This past Monday changed Feeding Forward and all of us.
Every step that we take makes it vividly clear - what we all do matters. We saw why once again yesterday. We invite you to join us in our journey. Together, we can give millions of Americans a seat at the table.
