F E E D M E Lau Pan Niang Maureen arranged a get-together for Marudi Secondary School alumni with former Principal Mr William Ng at a new Malay Fusion Eatery aptly named Feed Me by Al -Bayt Square, Miri. Our organiser had already circulated the menu the evening before so we all knew what to expect. Most went for the Kolo Mee with Chicken Satay or chicken wing, and because they all came topped with a fried egg sunny side up, they all tended to look the same. Except for Henry Akat, he chose the Kolo Mee with beef floss. Henry used to be a clean cut young man at school but today, he came in camouflage and totally unrecognisable in his moustache, beard, cap and dark sunnies. Unlike yours truly, he has kept his slim build as befits one of the school’s leading footballer. After the excitement of seeing the new Henry, the conversation turned to all manner of catch up news. Former Guru Besar and wife Mary both choose the Sarawak Laksa and I had the Fried Rice with dabai, topped with (another) egg. This fried rice is perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of seasoning to let the dabai flavour come through. It also had fine Ikan bills in the fried rice to complete the flavour. Sedap! Breakfast is punctuated with anecdotes of the good old days when life was simple and happy, a lifetime of adventures stretching before us. So much so we agree we have to convene again, soon. #reunion #gettogether #sekolahmenengahkerajaan #marudi #feedmemiri #makan #sedap (at Feed Me Miri) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8Le_NHpdXa/?igshid=1qbawedzdldas
