Loki x fem reader drabble
Summary:
Short drabble between reader and Loki, in which reader’s cat takes their attention away from Loki, much to his dismay.
Loki stood in the doorway. He slowly rapped his knuckles against the wooden door. A few knocks in a specific order. It had become a habit for him before entering her room.
When he heard a groan of exhaustion, he slowly opened the door. Laid before him was a mess of a bed. Pillows on the floor, sheet pulled halfway off the mattress, and you, in an unexplainable position.
"What in the nine do you do while you slumber? Fight titans?" He chastised. He noted your disheveled hair and unkempt clothing before briefly looking away, as your night gown did not seem to cover you all the way.
His face flushed, if not for a second, then he regained his composure.
"I beseech you to fix your attire."
You stared down, still groggy from just waking moments ago. Sure enough, something was out, bright as day. You quickly readjusted and then began trying to fix your hair.
"It is fine," he relented.
Loki, without warning, began to fix your bedding.
"Oh, you don't have to do that," you said, as he continued to restore your bedding.
"And yet I am," he retorted.
She shrugged at that and merely nodded, "Thanks," and then hopped off the bed so he could continue his work. Once he was done, he stared at the room in slight displeasure and stared at the curtains across the room.
"Do you mortals always wallow in self-pity amidst your shadowed hobbit holes?" He mused, referring to your dimly lit room, the emerald curtains currently barring any form of light from entering the room.
"I just... prefer the dark. It's calming," she said, taking her place back on the bed.
"Yes, so calming, that you cannot see," he said in a huff, as he opened the curtains and turned to face you.
It was so bright. His illuminated form radiating before you, the golden circlet he wore shone with hues of shimmering light. You squinted, trying to focus on his form, as your eyes finally adjusted to the light. You took the time to rub the sand from your eyes before returning his stare once again.
Through the open door, a small grey cat trotted in. Likely to begin howling their displeasure over their empty food bowl. They spotted you, and with a small "bbrm!" Their body jumped up onto the bed where you sat. They crawled into your lap and began to purr.
Loki, seeing the display of affection you gave the cat, made him look away in what seemed to be slight jealousy.
"Are you quite finished with that incessant feline? They have been bleating as such as a nascent goat through the morn."
Noting his tone and disapproving look, she remarked, "She's just hungry," and gave the fur on her chin small pets.
"Hungry, and *incessant*," He spat, adding, "Leaving hundreds of tiny scratches on the entrance of my abode."
"Sounds like you." She briefly challenged.
His eyes closed dangerously into thin slits before he straightened himself, "I suppose I am peckish."
She giggled, slowly picking up the small grey cat, and began to walk to the kitchen.
"Do you plan on carrying around that creature all day?" He said with exasperation lacing the tone of his voice, as he chidingly followed.
"I wasn't planning on it," she said as her eyes glanced over at a sling resting on the couch, "but it could be arranged," she said with a smirk.
"You spoil that furred creature too much."
Finally, she set the cat down, and with a "brrmp!" The grey cat trilled all the way to her food bowl. You quickly filled the bowl. As the small cat began to chow down, pleased sounds filled the air.
"Voracious little creature."
This time, she stared at him with displeasure.
"No bullying my cat!"
He relented and sat down on a stool next to the kitchen island.
As the cat finished their food, they licked their lips and scampered off to their favorite napping spot next to the window. Their grey fur was lighted with a sheen of halos that reflected from the sunlight cascading down. They curled into a small ball and began to sleep.
