Sometimes I'm just REALLY proud of YGOME?
Lucky strike 🧨
Polin modern au where penelope and Colin are dating but she doesn't even realise because he never properly asked and she doesn't think he'd ever go out with HER (for the prompt thing)
Colin flipped through her takeaway menus with gusto, trying to find inspiration. "What are you in the mood for? Personally, I'm thinking bread, but that's not really narrowing it down."
Too busy poking through the offerings on Netflix, Penelope shrugged. "I don't know. Do you want to eat the bread with oil or butter?"
His nose scrunched. "Too hard. That's like trying to choose a favorite niece or nephew, and you're evil for even suggesting it."
The snort that escaped her would absolutely send her mother to an early grave, but she was too delighted to care much. A night in, snuggled on the couch with Colin, it was basically a dream come true. "We both know you're going to end up making a sandwich while we wait for delivery, so I don't know why it matters what you pick."
The menus dropped to the coffee table with an audible clatter, and she turned to see him staring at her in awe. "Sandwiches. You're brilliant." Lurching himself up, he tidied the menus and took them back to the kitchen. "What deli meats are we working with? Wait, cheese."
"Oh, and popcorn!" she added, feeling awfully pleased with herself.
"Brilliant. I could kiss you. In fact-" He suddenly appeared above her, tilting her chin up so he could drop his lips to hers. Staring up at him, all she felt was the tingle left by his scruff and the gentle rub of his thumb against her throat. His smile, though, was all-encompassing. "Absurd I haven't done that by now."
Words failed her. If anyone knew she was a writer, this would be embarrassing. Hell, here she was gaping like a fish as her crush's smile fell into a concerned wobble. It was embarrassing, made all the worse by the tears burning in her eyes.
Immediately, Colin rounded the couch to kneel before her. "What's wrong, Pen? I know people usually wait for the end of the date, but-"
"End of the what?!"

We all love badass queen Caroline and Klaus being absolutely smitten with it, but I am a sucker for hurt/comfort and would love a little more in the category of Caroline getting hurt (physically or emotionally) and Klaus being absolutely soft for her and taking care of her (bonus for him going feral over whoever dare hurt the queen). If you please :) thank you! Love your writing <3
"Put me down, Klaus," she sighed, exhaustion clear in her voice as he carried her through the front door. "I can make it to the shower by myself."
A growl rumbled in his chest as he curled her close, arms tight around her. "Maybe you can," he muttered, his lips pressed to her hair. "I, however, seem unable to let you go at the moment. Indulge me."
She tucked her face into his neck, the strange blood on his skin far from appetizing. No, she wanted the monster underneath, the man who'd saved her. "I'm sorry for getting kidnapped. Again."
"No apologies, love." His tone brooked no argument. "Not from you."
"Then I'll say thank you," she groaned, poking a nail under his nose. "Thank you for bringing me home."
But his face crumpled at that, even as he tried to focus on drawing her a bath. "Don't thank me, either. You wouldn't have been in danger had it not been for me."
"I don't know." She gave a wry laugh, pressing a kiss to his chin. "I've found myself in plenty of trouble throughout the years without your help."
Again, his grip tightened, both of them fully clothed and tucked against the tub. "I'd prefer to focus on you being safe and whole at the moment, if you don't mind."
A warmth spread through her, one that had nothing to do with the steam curling in the bathroom. "Well, if you insist."
Prompt me!
Klaroline prompt: something that shows Caroline has Klaus wrapped around her little finger and his siblings teasing him incessantly about it.
He felt their eyes on him, but he refused to look away from his book. All he would deign to say was, "Don't."
The silence was heavy except for the sharp footsteps receding down the front path. Together, they listened to her car start and drive away, and only then did Elijah clear his throat. "Niklaus..."
"Don't," he repeated, not that it would save him now.
"We're allowed to have questions, Nik," Rebekah spat. "Why the hell is Caroline Forbes here, let alone wearing a sapphire the size of her eye?"
Kol's interjection was less personal, yet no more helpful. "Isn't that the diamond the old lady dropped in the ocean? What was that movie you made me watch, with the pretty boy?"
"The legal implications are troubling," Elijah offered, still stunned at the easy way Caroline had swanned into the room to let his brother kiss the ring she wore on her left hand. The last he heard, she was back in Virginia and living a human life. "I'm not sure filing paperwork with the state is a trail we want to leave for the future."
Klaus wet his lips, determinedly turning a page. "We're not running anymore," he pointed out. "And it's not a wedding ring. Merely...a promise. For someday."
Though she would never admit it, Rebekah stamped her foot. "Someday? You used to call me a lovesick brat every time I believed someone wanted to marry me. Why on earth-"
He snapped the book shut. "And I was wrong."
This silence was somehow heavier as his admission sank in. A thousand years later, there was a novelty in surprising them. "Love is worth the effort you put in," he said, soft and understanding as Rebekah's eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry I didn't know that then, and I'm grateful to know it now. That's why she wears my ring."
"I'll be glad to have another sister," Kol chimed in suddenly, poking Rebekah's shoulder as she stared, frozen. "I think you broke this one."

Pen tells Colin her first kiss was one of his siblings, he guesses everyone except for Eloise for the prompt thing
Aggrieved beyond measure, Colin gaped at his girlfriend. "What do you mean, I wasn't your first kiss? You asked me to kiss you!"
"We were just kids, curious and confused about what all the movies were talking about," Penelope explained patiently. "When you kissed me, that was a very different thing."
"But..." He trailed off, a strange hurt sinking in his gut. "I liked that I was your first kiss."
She gripped his hand. "And you were, in a sense. But-"
"Anthony wouldn't," he decided out of hand. "And Greg was far too young, as was Hy. I don't think you were particularly close to Daff, which leaves...still too large a list." With a name he didn't particularly relish. "I swear, if Benedict-"
Rolling her eyes, Penelope kissed him once, then twice. "There, you've just received twice as many of my kisses as any of your siblings. Satisfied?"
"Benedict? Although Franny is always complimenting your lipstick..."
"It was Eloise, you ridiculous man," she groaned. "Obviously."
His head tilted to the side, and the glint in his eye sparkled dangerously. "You kissed El?"
"Technically, she kissed me."
"Pen!"
She laughed as she tangled her hands in his hoodie, tugging lightly to soothe the worst of his despair. "We were ten. Very, very different," she reminded him. "Care for a demonstration?"

Polin + family reactions to their engagement. (Or if you prefer, Klaroline with the same prompt, whichever ship you feel more in the mood for)
Anonymous asked:
Could you write a fic where Colin announces his very sudden (they better keep the propsal as is i swear) engagement to Penelope to his family
The scene with the Featheringtons in the book is so good, but i feel we were robbed of some really flabbergasted reactions from the Bridgertons (especially Violet) that Colin is indeed engaged. (If you want to use show canon, comparing it to his proposal to Marina would be interesting especially since both are rather sudden)
Please forgive me for combining these two delightful prompts!
Having said his goodbyes to the Featheringtons, with a promise to call on Penelope the next day, Colin stepped onto the street with a new understanding of his place in the world. He had proposed marriage. After thirty-three aimless years on this earth, he was going to be a husband.
He was going to be Penelope's husband, a thought that gave him no small amount of pride now that she had officially accepted. Well, he still had some arrangements to make for the 'official' part, he supposed.
Turning right, he made his way to Bridgerton House. Though his mother certainly deserved to know all her machinations had finally reached a result, Number 5 would have to wait for the viscount's blessing.
Not that he was the one who would execute all the necessary bits. "Kate," he called, informal as ever upon entering his former home. The staff met him with a tired wave and an assurance of refreshments. "Is the viscountess in?"
"No, but your brother is." Anthony's dry voice was soon followed by his person, coming down the stairs with little Charlotte in his arms.
Oh, Colin might have swooned. There would be children, too.
Anthony frowned. "Are you quite well? It's not like you to visit outside a proper meal."
"I'm getting married."
The frown deepened, and then, "Come on, right to the kitchen with you. You're clearly faint with hunger."
Snatching his niece to keep his temper, Colin bounced them both. "I tell you I'm getting married, and-"
"It's Penelope, isn't it?!"
"Mama!"
Kate rushed in, wrapping both Colin and Charlotte in a hug. "Tell me it's Penelope," she insisted, her smile encouraging and threatening.
He dropped to kiss to Charlotte's head, then his sister-in-law's cheek, full of love for his brother for bringing them into their lives. "It's Penelope."
"Honestly, it's about time. Another month and I would have lost the wager." Leaning around him, Kate pinned Anthony with a most charming sneer. "You owe me ten pounds."
Colin blinked. "Is this what marriage is?"
Fondly exasperated, Anthony reclaimed his daughter and pinched his wife's waist. "If you're lucky. Congratulations, brother, you chose well. We can go over the details whenever you'd like."
Biting her lip, Kate leaned in. "Have you told your mother?"
"I believe Daff is visiting this afternoon," Anthony offered, "which means you can tell them both, along with Eloise and Hyacinth."
Again, Colin blinked. "I...may need reinforcements.
